[8.90.6] LibreELEC 9.0 Alpha for S905/S912 devices

  • so its not like youre trolling right? this topic is most up to date eventhough version may imply differently

I am not trolling, as I remember, alf1 started the pre alpha builds, then adamg continued, as I said, the numbers confused me.

It doesn't really matter, try them, but they are both pre alpha, so expect problems.

Actually gendo started them first then me then afl1

Gendo stopped after I made my first release

I asked afl1 if he would like to combine our repositories and releases so there was less confusion for users and so it was less maintainence for the both of us as sometimes he will fix the latest code and then at other times I will, we both benefit from the collaboration and so do users.

Now kszaq is also concentrating on 9.x so there is even greater collaboration now as everyone is upstreaming their contributions to a single location.

Version numbers are developer specific and not related in anyway to any official version.

  • Does LibreElec have keyboard support?
I connected a USB keyboard and it didn't work, which worked fine in Android.

I only need "yes" or "no"
USB Keyboard is recognized by Linux but it doesn't do anything in LibreElec.

    Code
    LibreELEC:~ # lsusb

Keyboard is recognized as USB device but if it is use as keyboard you have to show kernel log.

Reboot box and submit command dmesg | paste.

    Post url.

  • If I boot my box without having the A/V receiver or TV on (the signal goes to the receiver and from there to the TV), it seems that LE changes the GUI resolution to 720p even though I have set it to 1080p as I have a FullHD capable TV. I have to do some searching to see how to force the output to 1080p upon startup, but just thought that I'd report this behaviour. If you need any logs etc., just let me know.

  • just fyi, getting this error on a new sd card, start from scratch, I couldn't seem to update joystick. no issues just reporting.

17:29:07.750 T:3976410000 ERROR: CAddonInstallJob[peripheral.joystick]: The dependency on kodi.binary.instance.peripheral version 1.3.7 could not be satisfied.

  • I recently purchased a xgody x96 2gb and was able to reboot to recovery after installing terminal and installed the 8.2 release. Was very impressed although I had some issues with the tv flashing black when playing tvheadend recordings. So I decided to try this version instead and it's surprisingly stable for an alpha and so far no tv glitches with tvheadend. One issue I did have is my remote (a USB Microsoft media PC style one) only worked if I was real close to the receiver which did not happen with 8.2. I disabled CEC and joystick (as I don't need either) and problem is gone.

    You guys are awesome.

  • New S905 test release LibreELEC-S905.arm-9.0-devel-20180223155029-r28201-gea3b1a985.tar

4 new options in Settings>System>Display specific to Amlogic

If your TV appears green after flashing the image then set your colour space with the new options and reboot until you find one that works.

Could someone tell me what is supported by the S905?

    Force RGB output?

    444,10bit?

    422,10bit?

    rgb,10bit?

I tried to get these information from other threads but I can't and my TV does not tell me what it gets.

What are the best settings for the S905?
