7.0.3.010 build for S905/S905X

First of all, I couldn't test your sample clips as the files are password protected.

My box is a re-branded Mini M8S II 2GB/8GB, according to other fora. Video and audio go through an Onkyo AVR to my Panasonic TV

    I tested with 1080i50 H264 AC3 2.0 (BBCHD caps from 2011) without an issue
    I also tested with 720p50 H264 AC3 5.1, without issues again.

    hi Moe,
the password is the same as my user id.

My hardware is the same as yours, Mini M8S II 2GB/8GB

    H264 1080i/50 AC3 test clip https://www.dropbox.com/s/weuqz3qhst9w8w...rt.7z?dl=0 starting from about 00:01:37

MPEG2 720p/50 test clip Dropbox - 1024_20161203090100_short2.7z problem commences immediately, recurs just over once / sec

the above clips were both recorded from Australian TV

it would be great if you could test these, and yuri's clip sample.ts and provide feedback ... just for my piece of mind :)

    thanks

ΟΚ, I tested the clips and I saw the problems you described. The log is full of ffmpeg errors.

    Code
    T:545443455200 ERROR: ffmpeg[7EFEF6A0E0]: [h264] non-existing SPS 0 referenced in buffering period
    T:545443455200 ERROR: ffmpeg[7EFEF6A0E0]: [h264] non-existing PPS 0 referenced

    T:545443455200 ERROR: ffmpeg[7EFEF6A0E0]: [h264] no frame!
T:545443455200 DEBUG: ffmpeg[7EFEF6A0E0]: [mpegts] parser not found for codec dvb_teletext, packets or times may be invalid.

This is a wild guess but I think the problem is the teletext\subtitles streams in the files. They mess up the timings.

  • Hello...

I have the same issue with Mini M8S II (2G/8G)... I follow these threads for some time and i have installed all LibreELEC version since 7.0.2.007 always with the same result...

The box freezes randomly... SSH works alright but Kodi is not responding...

This happened in 2 identical boxes with or without additional third party addons...

Kszaq suggested an issue with memory leaks but until now this is still happening with the latest development versions...

    Best regards...

thanks, confirms it's not just me :P

There seem to be 2 different problems (h264 vs. mpeg2). The h264 stream seems "unrecoverable" for a period of time whereas the mpeg stream recovers ok

Interestingly the h264 clips play ok in version 7 (minor glitch - "instantly" recoverable), but not versions 9 or 10 ... whereas the mpeg stream has a problem in all the releases I've tested so far

For the H264 file In my log file I found a whole lot of this (50-100 lines) at about the time the problem starts and no obvious indication of teletext problems

    Code
    20:49:54 T:546019434720   DEBUG: CDVDPlayerVideo::CalcDropRequirement - dropped in decoder, Sleeptime: 0.019167, Bufferlevel: 1, Gain: 0.062450

in the Mpeg2 file I find this pattern repeating on playback

    Code
    08:03:11.671 T:3659453344   DEBUG: CVideoPlayerVideo::CalcDropRequirement - hurry: 1

I posted complete logs and discussion at LibreELEC and LibreELEC

thanks again for following up with tests and feedback

  • I have too a MiniMXII II 2G and I don't have any boot issue with 7.0.3.10 release but I didn't flash the internal nand, I use an external USB. For the 4k, I don't have any 4K video so I can't try.

Thanks MrFusion92. I have flashed the post-010 development build as posted by kszaq a few days ago on the Beelink MiniMXIII II 2G. No boot issues and no 4K or HDR issues until now. This build is much smoother on my device than the 7.0.3.10 i flashed a few days ago.

  • I also have the same box and fr me it boots only if I remove the hdmi cable, and even if it boots it doesn't work properly with dvb-t HD content. I think it might depend on my TV a Samsung "real HD" (1340x768) .... in fact I was not able to change resolution with the 010 and there were some strange hdmi error messages. I am back to 009 now and everything is ok.

I have it installed on an SD Card. On the Nand I have Android. To me also happens to me that it stays in the logo in the boot, sometimes removing the network cable and others the HDMI, I get it to boot. I have returned to 009 and I have the problem that sometimes it does not pick up the network cable and it needs to reboot until it detects it.
By the way, in which USB does the boot take the Beelink Mini MX III? In any of the two or in a concrete one?
    Thank you

  • Thanks kszaq, LE working well on Beelink Mini MXIII II. Is missing support for Bluetooth in S905X boxes a missing driver and is it something which can be added? Do S912 boxes require the same driver and will a similar issue exist?

  • it`s on nand already :P
    thx - I`ll google that.
edit: I´m not sure I want to run a script/program I have to install through some not official repo on my box... There has to be another way

  • Ah, ok, thx - I thought it wont boot from sd card, once you installed to internal. Didn`t even try.

Actually you might be right,

Could try the pinhole method to get it to boot from sd,

But frankly, I have never installed to NAND. I think running from sd is quick enough, & I can boot android for skype if I want.

  • I have the same issue with Mini M8S II (2G/8G).

You have an S905X Chip ?
Something not right. I'm not sure if you're the first to have this freeze issue with that chip.

    I updated to LibreELEC-S905.aarch64-7.0-devel-20161212221553-r23560-g512a087.img
    (from LibreELEC-S905.aarch64-7.0-devel-20161212161011-r23559-gd4fc4f6.img)

I now can report that this version displays the same results on both my box and my friends identical box.
The boot ups are now 90% working.

kszaq I cannot explain what has happened since my results yesterday but the box now boots up 100%
    of the time.

It's as if after the install the box has taught itself how to boot up.
I got up this morning and tried to make it freeze but it boots up every time.

  • Hi,
First thanks for the great job, finally my K1 Plus working as it should. I have a couple of questions hoping that someone can help with, how can I force hdmi output to RGB ? Kodi popcorn time and Quasar plugins didn't works - I am using 32 bit version if this matter.
    Thanks.
