Sorry for stupid question, but how can I install *.tar firmware to an SD-card from scratch? (not update)

Tested again, still sync issue persist with AC3 after 30-60 minutes.
Most noticeable on HD livetv on 50fps
Everything else works great

8.1.1 uploading now.
Thank you, this is the first LE on my box which doesn't forget the settings I make after reboot.
Unfortunately it freezes sometimes in the menu but it plays even the UHD BD streams.
Promising!

I am on 8.0.2e flashed and booting from internal. Do I need to update the device tree before upgrading to 8.1.1? And whats the best way to upgrade the device tree?

Not before, but at the same time. Put it in the update folder with the .tar file. Reboot.

SMB works for me as well (Debian host), but I can't see suspend option in Kodi anymore.

I have 2 NAS.
The first one with Windows Server 2003 : Unable to access to my SMB shares with this version of Libreelec (it's true for my S912 device and my S905x device).
My second NAS run Openmediavault (Debian), I can access my SMB Shared Drive but need to map it via "Add network location".
But I am unable to see my WORKGROUP when I use "Windows network (SMB)".

SMB works for me as well (Debian host), but I can't see suspend option in Kodi anymore.
Suspend was removed a while ago due to it being unreliable, providing too great a risk of stuck devices.

With version 8.1.1 is my green screen back
autostart.sh with rgb_output stopped to work. In previous versions it was ok..... and yes, it freezes sometimes in menu (like v.8.0.2e). -
From time to time there are picture freezes for about 3 seconds. This is for H265 4K IPTV
