Boot screen options

  • Would it be possible to add either an option to add your own boot splash screen, or to swap between a selection of your own?

    In a home theatre set up, the boot presentation can be just as mood setting as the skin used...

    Just a suggestion.

    thanks!

  • Copy your favorite image to /flash/oemsplash.png and reboot :)

  • Seeing as this relates to boot screens and rather than create a new thread;

    Would it be possible to add an option for the boot animation that Millhouse uses in all his RasPi builds?

    Good luck to all with LibreElec!

    Team discuss about this idea and maybe it will be realized in the future. RPi is using one very lightweight media player for this purpose and we need something similar for other projects also.

    Hiya

    i have done that and it works for around 5 seconds , then right in the end it loads back kodi Jarvis 16.1 splash screen also for another 2 seconds.

    i have tried searching in all Kodi /media or addons folders for this other Splash.png but i cannot find it.

    is it hidden in a specific folder? i am using S805 OTT mxq

  • You can turn it off: advancedsettings.xml - Official Kodi Wiki

  • Can the boot screen/splash screen be changed to customised animated or GIF kind picture?

    It can be done in milhouse images for Raspberry pi where there are custom patches for the pi bootloader to add the capability. It is not something easily ported over to other bootloaders so is unlikely to become a mainstream feature.
