S802/S812-Libreelec images for 7/8/9

  • Bought an usb stick and used several sd cards but i still stuck with errors (prepare_sysroot, could not mount /dev/SYSTEM)
    Used LibreELEC-S802.arm-8.0.1-S82.img

Do i have to install version 7 first or can i start with 8? Downloading 7 needs a password.

    Which device tree do i have to choose for Mbox S83B V2.2 S802B/A P6330/ 2/16GB Mali 450?
Do i have to copy anthing else to the internal memory of the box if i like to boot from SD?

    Thanks a lot.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance

how did you fix this I tried everything but no luck

  • I started to try to get liberelec on my S82 more than one week ago. I found detailed how-tos for other devices. I recognice this is not a help forum cause my stupid noob questions are still open.
DEVICE TREE? From 905? From 911 Turbo? Maybe my grandmother knows the truth.
I have experience with rooting and roms on several smartphones. Customizing recievers, 360 etc... I still believe in myself. I have bit more intelligence than a monkey. But this one is to frustrating. DEVICE TREE? Can i have a look in the woods? How long should it be?

  • Hello Demetris,
After you mentioned New images are up, enjoy. I tried several times to update my box to the latest version. Everytime the remote stopped working.
I tried it also on monday 27 march. Everytime I have to re-install again the version of 25 februari Libreelec-S802,S82 arm-8.0.RC4 img.gz. That version is perfect.
I see that there are more readers with the same problem. I still hope that you can provide us with a working version of the latest new images.
Beside the remote problem, Your still great.

  • LE newbie here so please bear with me. I am trying to install this version of LE on an M8 device currently running Android 4.4.2 ..... tried the .img file and AMlogic USB Burner will not load it, tried the RC4 zip via the toothpick method and the flashing stops half way though. Then I get a message saying Ërasing and the box factory resets to what it was running before.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Never worked with .tar or .img.gz files before hence my being stuck

    Hi Demetris

I put back the Android OS on my MX-III 2GB and is back to factory defaults and working normally.

    Then I downloaded
LibreELEC-S8X2.arm-8.0.1-S82.img.gz and used Etcher to put the image on 8GB microSD

    SD content after preparation:
    Volume Label : LIBREELEC
    Files:
    aml_autoscript
    kernel
    kernel.img.md5
    system
    system.md5
    .LOST.DIR (folder)

Boot from SD is working but it stops as soon as it puts the LibreElec splash screen and shows:

    Quote

cp: can´t stat ´/flash/SYSTEM´: No such file or directory
    *** Error in prepare_sysroot: mount_common: Could not mount /dev/SYSTEM ***
    ### Starting debugging shell... type exit to quit ###
sh: can´t access tty: job control turned off
    #_

What am I doing wrong. Please advise.

I also tried burning the image using Etcher onto a USB drive and boot. The device has 2 regular USB ports and one Micro USB port. I tried the USB drive on all three ports, go into recovery and reboot, but never boots into LE and always ends up on Android

My box is MXIII S802 Amlogic 2GB RAM/8GB Storage Mali 450.

  • As posted my 7up latest image doesn't detect Bluetooth adapter on my TRMK1 using M8 image.
Ir Remote is working although if i press my power button and click suspend i cant wake it back up again, i have to flick power switch on box.
Many thanks for keeping these box's alive, going out of your way and taking time away from your loved ones to provide us with these images

  • I also had issues last night loading up the most recent build for MXIII.

    Received this error:
    Error in prepare_sysroot: mount_common: Could not mount /dev/SYSTEM ***
    ### Starting debugging shell... type exit to quit ###
sh: can´t access tty: job control turned off

I loaded up the previous build from February and it worked fine.
