[8.0.2e] LibreELEC 8.0 for S905/S905X

  • With all beta releases, I have trouble updating my wetek hub. I place the img.gz file in the update folder and reboot the box. After the restart, unpacking of the image file starts, but then a kernel panic happens and the update process does not complete.

At first I thought it might be a problem of my sdcard, but even with a new one the same error occurs. The information is scrolling so fast, that I cannot see where the panic originated. All I can see are register dumps and some information about the process counter.

When I place an uncompressed image in the update folder, the update process runs without problems.

  • I have uploaded 7.95.beta5 build with Kodi 17.0. I'm mobile-only now, will update OP in a few hours.

    Yeah thanks m8.

[Edit :] I misunderstood the "OP" acronym (stands for original post) and believed a stable version of your work will come up instead of the beta. My mistake. Anyway, coffea on it's way, right away.[/Edit]

    I'm sorry,
but I with a mini mx 1gb 8gb continuing to have the shots while playing movies 1080p 23.976 fps and 24 fps. I reproduce them from the local network. currently I use the beta 5, but I've always tried all libreelec versions with the same problem: every 20-30 seconds a small video shooting. It's normal?
I is coming an wetek hub ... I hope I have the same problem.
    Thank's for your job.

  • Does your TV tell you, which Bit Depth it receives via HDMI?

The 2160p / BT.2020 / 10 Bit / HDR10 demos I tested work well on my M8S II too, but I don't know if there is actually 10 Bit output or if it is converted to 8 Bit...

  • 7.95 Beta5 working fine here so far on a Droibox S905X 2G/16G box. Spotify addon seems more stable, will leave it on test streaming etc all day here. CEC is working fine with Yamaha AVR RX-V679. All pass through settings available for 7.1 DTS etc working as far as I can hear. AVR remote operates via CEC all Kodi functions fine. Great work. Thanks! Any other things to check/test?

Update: Running stream of Deepwater Horizon, 4K Video, 23.9 FPS, TrueHD Audio RAW to AVR, across internet, fantastic. Kodi handling on Libreelec superb. No bumps or issues.

  • Right. This is win. The amlogic box behaves exactly the same way. I'll give you an updated log (your build) when I'm back at home.

If you get the same error with Windows, this is a Kodi bug that needs to be fixed in Kodi, not specifically in my releases.

  • Hi,
I'm trying to build the image myself so I can experiment with the code but I'm stuck with errors during kernel compilation:

Any ideas? I'm working with beta5 source code and trying to build 32-bit version with "PROJECT=S905 ARCH=arm make -j4".

    Thank you.

EDIT: Nevermind, I didn't realized that I'm running on x86 host but x86_64 seems to be required for aarch64 kernel build.

  • Is it possible to change back and forward between LibreElec 7 and 8 by just switching sd cards? (I have not installed to internal, and I am not planning to do so in the near future)

    Kind regards
