I'm trying to install LibreELEC/CoreElec on Magicsee C300 PRO (S912 + DVB-S2).
'GUI' runs fine however the Tvheadend 4.x has empty "TV Adapters" list .
How to add/install required DVB drivers ?
Display MoreThank you all - Yes that web page was what I was following
acording to that web page S905X does not need a device tree. "S905X: You can leave a tree that is already present on SD card"
I'll try a 2G one and see if that works.
I try gxl_p212_2g.dtb and gxl_p212_2g_nand.dtb and gxl_p212_2g_slowemmc.dtb but same - Stops at mecool banner.
I must be doing something stupid as others have got it to work.
Sucess, I used This and it booted first time. Few things dont work (keyboard/mouse) but at least it boot - and I know this is alpha.
Ok. now i see where I was going wrong. I didn't rename gxl_p212_2g.dtb to dtb.img (it was not ovious from the install instructions). Now it is working properly even keyboard/mouse & wifi works.
Hi,
does your remote work? I'm using the same box and everything except my remote is working fine. Had the same issue a few versions back, but that was the alpha version.
thx in advanced

copy remote.conf file from andriod and paste root directory of sd card.
Hello to all,
I have a Mecool M8 pro L and have installed LE 8.2.4.1 as a dual boot.
The problem I have is whatever video I tried to play kodi freezes and restart itself.
Mecool does not reboot only kodi restarts!
Could you help me?

Display MoreOK my subtitle issue is not related to the mysql database.
It is related to SMB.
If I have the subtitle file in the same directory as the movie on an SMB source - CRASH
If I have the subtitle file in the same directory as the movie on an NFS source - WORKS
If I have the subtitle file in the same directory as the movie on an LOCAL source - WORKS
So I guess I can work around this by having a custom dir located on an NFS (or LOCAL) share for the subtitles (I've never tried this before, but I think I've seen settings for this)? I'll try it out later this week.
Odd that the movie is fine over SMB, it is just the subtitle files that cause problems.
Anyway, if anybody has any ideas as to why subtitles over SMB causes crashes - I'm all ears.
OK so I think I have the same issue.
If I have a .srt file to my SMB share kodi crashes.
Do we have a sollution for this?
@astergiou Please do NOT provide text log files in the forum, use the CORRECT method as detailed in my signature.
Tried version 8.2.3.1 and smb subtitles are working.
I think something is wrong with 8.2.4.1
wrxtasy: where is the 32bit latest build for Odroid you promised?
None of your current releases work on Odroid C2.
Display MoreIve been using libre for ages on a raspberry. However I wanted hevc support, so after reading the forums, I bought a Mecool M8S pro + (S905x) as this was recommened. This one does not have a reset button in the AV hole.
Whilst this box does have a sort of kodi it’s not to my liking, so I wanted to boot libre of the sd card.
I used LibreELEC-S905.arm-8.2.4.2-S905Test-1529136339 and tried LibreELEC-S905.arm-8.2-8.2.3.1.
But all I got was the Mecool banner and then it just stayed there.
I’m sure it should run as other people have it running on M8S boxes, so I must be doing something wrong.
Can anyone point me in the right direction.
Thank you.
The reset button for the Mecool M8S Pro+ is inside the front grill, below the M in M8S. I cut out one of the grill posts so that I can get at it more easily.
Installed successfully "LibreELEC-S905.arm-8.2.4.2-S905Test-1529136339.img.gz" + dtb on a Minix NEO U1. Also "installtointernal" went smooth.
So far everything seems stable and fast.
Thanks to wrxtasy.
@doggyofone Can you provide a photo of your "Fix". I've just got a new Mecool M8S Pro+ and would like to know how to reset the box. LE runs fine off of the SD card but just in case.
It would also help other users.
Has the release LibreELEC-S905.arm-8.2.4.2-S905Test-1529136339.img.gz a "Force RGB" option in settings? I have an old Sony TV needing rgb output.
I've fixed the 8.2.4.2 ext4 version of boot.img. The patch only applies to eMMC installation. There is no sign of SD on run. New boot.img here.
Hello, how do I use the new boot.img file? I'm trying a fresh install, cheers...

Overwrite the original boot image file on the SD card.

Sure.
Here is a picture of the location of the reset button on the Mecool M8S Pro+. Sorry about the quality. The phone camera sucks.
A toothpick will fit if you remove the first grill post to the right of the power light. The reset button is at the top of the opening you create. You can also poke around without removing the post, but with something slimmer than a toothpick. I found this awkward and difficult without the grill post removed.

Not all Mecool M8S Pro+ L have that button.
Mine doesn't so I just rebooted it in Android using ADB or inside Android since it is rooted already:
Install Termux in Android, open it and then
This will reboot it from SD
wrxtasy: do you really care for the Odroid C2 customers ? now i am feeling like you really give a very good software support. i am happy that i bought odroid c2 because you are solving odroid C2 users problems. keep it up
