No name, just 9.97.1 (could indeed be release candidate?)

I was expecting beta6 coming, is it released by mistake
There is no pre-determined time path of when the next set of test builds will be released. Whenever we feel comfortable with the current status of LibreELEC, we'll go into the next phase.
Right now, time is also becoming a bit of a factor as Kodi 19 has been out for some time now, including a .1 revision. Normally we aren't that far behind, but with this round things have been taking more time, especially with the new RPi4 hardware. We prefer to keep the same LE version for all supported hardware, rather than going for a different off-beat version for each device.
How many 9.97 versions there will be is unsure, but I doubt it'll make it to v6 as well like with 9.95. I hope LE 10 final will not be that far away.

OOM killer issue should be fixed in latest nightly builds - please read the additional info here RE: Cant play 4K MKV files without crashing and test with the nightly.

x.97.x is ReleaseCandidate, so basically close to final (we are overdue for a while already)
RPi4 is still bumped because there is no way we can do a "stable" LE10 for RPi4 - so it stays beta ish.
We are already late with LE10 and the current problems are likely not fixed anytime soon so no real need to delay it further. Like hias said OOM are likewise fixed with the latest nightly (switch to 64Bit Kernel).
-
Ah, OK. The latest LE betas have been pretty solid for the RPi4, though. Best LE for the RPi4 so far.
So, with the next RC the mentioned OOM fixes will be included?

Yes. We wouldn't mind though getting some feedback with current nightly testing

I would like too but am using both HDMI Ports, so until that is fixed in the nightlies it‘s a no-no for me

Fair enough. We also hope that's fixed in the RPi kernel soon.

FYI: This issue has now been fixed, please give the latest nightly (20210730 ATM) a try.

am I the only one?
Maybe. Tell us the COMPLETE process that you do, in every small detail (because we are not sitting next to you). As if we are 5-yr olds.

With the latest version, i do not have any more issue (the 10.0.0 release) you may close this thread.
-
I'm reffing to the issue as described in the beginning of this thread.
In the settings > LibreELEC > system > create systems and Kodi backup.
Selecting the default folder.
After approximately 40 % of the progress bar the system reboots
As i mentioned before i'm on LibreELEC 10.0.0 on rpi4 with 4G of memory

Internal memory is unlikely the issue here. How much free disk space is on the SDcard or USB boot storage? When you have roughly less than 50% left on the storage partition, you could run into problems (thumbnails do not compress that easily).
-
I use sd card, on which 882M is used and 27G is free so I don't believe thats the issue.
Any other directions?

Perhaps your SDcard has one or more disk errors... Try/test a different SDcard if possible. A 4-8GB version is enough already.
-
Usually a log is generated when kodi crashed and is restarted. Use pastecrash or the crash log uploader of LibreELEC-Settings.
