libreelec 10 rpi4 status

  • Current plan is to release official Alphas for RPi4 along with the other Alpha builds.

RPi2/3 releases will probably follow later as there's a major issue in the video driver (screen going blank). Once that's fixed RPi2 alpha builds will follow.

  • Great work with 4k, performance seems exellent but for some reason i cant get full screen. Works fine woth 1080

edit: see the clock, it doesnt fit

  • Check your TV and whitelist settings. Make sure overscan is disabled on TV and kodi actually used 3840x2160 (not 4096x2160).

    As usual, debug logs help.

Please provide a full debug log.

How to post a log (wiki)

    1. Enable debugging in Settings>System Settings>Logging
    2. Restart Kodi
    3. Replicate the problem.

Full logs only. No modified logs.

Do not post your logs directly into the forum, use pastebin.com and post the link.

Works fine on my setup so must be something at your end.

  • I did that, 3840x2160 is there.

Also if I choose it manually while playing it works.

but kodi selects 4096x2160 for some reason.

  • The 4k 24 FPS files I tested with (8 and 10bit HEVC) played fine. Can't say anything about 50/60 FPS as video driver doesn't support 50/60 Hz yet.

Good news. I meant UHD Bluray remuxes. I bought RPi4 a year a go to play them, but in scenes with bit rate over 60mbit it starts dropping frames, ~100mbit is choppy then. So Im still hoping...

  • now there are so many rpi4 "status" threads so I dont know where to follow, but as of 20210203 I cant resume files again with h264, is this known? if not I will upload logs

Storing watch or resume status shouldn't be video type dependent. Perhaps your video database is somewhat corrupted.

Uploading a log is always useful.

its not a database thing, its about being able to jump within the file.

  • Thanks for reporting, I could reproduce the resume issue and informed our ffmpeg guru about it.

  • We got a fix for the resume issue, it should find it's way into nightly builds soon ffmpeg: update rpi patch by HiassofT · Pull Request #5093 · LibreELEC/LibreELEC.tv · GitHub

    Ref LibreELEC-RPi4.arm-9.80-nightly-20210205-3420901 nightly.

Additional feedback that ffmpeg fix, appears to fix issues I have recently observed in previous nightlies with search through and playback of catch-up TV programs when using pvr.zattoo. Prior to this fix being introduced, initiating stream was generally slow to commence, although fine once started then slow and erratic to recover when attempting to FF/RR through a catch-up stream. (used mouse in order to selectively step fwd through stream as previous workaround)

Now interaction is clean and immediate. LibreELEC settings Kodi.Log

I have been sticking with and enjoying latest nightly Kodi Matrix Beta/LibreELEC Alpha nightlies on my rpi4 for a while now, working extremely well for my daily usage needs. Thanks to everyone involved in ongoing development, very much appreciated. :)
