LibreELEC 9.2.4 (Leia) has arrived based upon Kodi v18.8.
Changes since 9.2.3:
- firmware fixes for RPi (fixes booting issues)
- Kodi 18.8
Kodi 19 Matrix:
We have currently no plans yet to create an official Alpha release of LE10 with the Alpha version of Kodi 19. Due the drawn out release cycle of Kodi and the experiences from the past few years we are waiting a bit longer to avoid major problems. Nightly builds could be downloaded like usual, that includes the latest unstable development snapshot of LE10/Kodi19.
Change for Raspberry 4:
With LE 9.2 and later you need to add “hdmi_enable_4kp60=1“ to your config.txt if you want to use 4k output at the RPi4. Before you needed “hdmi_enable_4k=1“ that is now deprecated.
If you experience problems, please open an thread at our forum. You can also open an ticket at our Github issue tracker.
Upgrading
On first boot the Kodi media database will be upgraded. Depending on your hardware and media collection size this could take several minutes. Please be patient.

I have just upgraded to LibreELEC 9.2.4 from 9.2.3 on an RPi4-4.
The RPi4 Firmware and EEPROM are unchanged:
Bootloader EEPROM (up to date: 2020-04-16)
VIA USB3 Firmware (up to date: 000137ad)
Are these the latest stable releases (no changes)?
Should they be automatically updated, or do I have to download / install something?
I set each switch to ON and re-booted in turn and nothing updated.
If there is a link to how to do this manually, please point me to it.
Thank you to all for the hard work. Especially with all the RPi4 frustrations.

See Point 11 in 1st post of milhouse kodi forum thread for recent Matrix Kodi 19 testbuilds, as this provides explanation of Critical, Stable and Beta Bootloader and usb3 firmware, along with explanation on how to apply updates via Libreelec settings option and/or manually at own risk etc.
Obviously take care and do not modify if not sure what your doing etc. (not used myself)
My eeprom and usb3 settings according to Libreelec 9.2.4 GUI
And via ssh

Thanks for that, I'll take a look.
I thought I saw that Firmware and EEPROM had been updated when comparing 9.2.3 with 9.2.4 on GitHub. I am not a developer and may have misunderstood.
Thanks again.

Thank you both. All is now perfectly clear.

I searched around for a place to put this but, here it is.
I just upgraded from 9.2.3 to 9.2.4 and one thing I have noticed is with un-copyrighted DVDs, it plays normally. However, if you push X to stop and get out of the DVD, the screen will freeze and kodi.bin has to be killed to get back screen control. I don't know if it is safe to downgrade to 9.2.3
-
I don't know if it is safe to downgrade to 9.2.3
its save to downgrade between the minor version bumps, so 9.2.4 -> 9.2.0 is easily working
-
I downgraded to 9.2.3 and it is fine with minor hiccups with dvd freezing screens on exit.
-
on 9.2.4 (RPi4) the picture disappeared, while there is sound and hdmi cec works fine, I hear how the system reacts to pressing the remote control key, but I see nothing. The TV itself thinks that it is being given a signal, writes that it is there and writes the resolution, but the picture is just black. Changing the hdmi port doesn't help. This also happens when upgrading from 9.2.3 and during a clean install.

Can you please try if this build works LibreELEC-RPi4.arm-9.2-devel-20200817130411-96056bf.tar ?
Just copy it to the Update Windows share and then reboot.

This image has successfully updated my RPi4, there is a picture, everything is fine. I use 1080p resolution
-
I have left mine on (pi xero) and it never updates, the setting is on Auto update? im i missing something!
-
I have left mine on (pi xero) and it never updates,
'Never' would be a bit odd... But the auto-update for 9.2.4 has not yet been enabled.
Apparently something is off on the RPi4 release. 9.2.5 for the RPi4 is in the making.
Testing is ongoing, and once it feels okay, the auto-updated will be re-enabled.

LE 9.2.5 is making/ on going?
On which Kodi Version is this version based ?
-
Only change in 9.2.5 compared to 9.2.4 is the RPi4 firmware change - both use Kodi Leia 18.8 and we'll release 9.2.5 only for RPi4.
so long,

-
Ah ok, but is it already released ?
-
No, but it should be released soon.
