Unofficial LE for RK356x RK3328\RK3399 3288\3188

    • Official Post

From a forum post in that thread you linked: [15:00:37.296] OS: Linux, 4.4.213-rockchip64, #5 SMP Fri Apr 16 17:25:31 UTC 2021, aarch64

This means the Armbian image is using the Rockchip 4.4 vendor kernel. LE has no interest in that kernel. I'll let others comment on whether there is any usable mainline kernel support.

The post has two images of Armbian. One based on the Rockchips kernel and another in the mainline kernel. If I'm not mistaken.

  • LE-11 ver 20211012 kernel 5.14.11 , KODI-20

All equipment works on Station P1 (RK3399) M1 (RK3328) models (HDMI sound and analog 3.5, WiFi, BT, remote control).

  • Have a rk3328 rock64 1gb. Whats the benefit of using this build over the official build? I know this is more updated but it was unclear from the first post whats really offered here. Thanks!!

How do I build for Station-M1? Is it:

    PROJECT=Rockchip DEVICE=RK3328 ARCH=arm UBOOT_SYSTEM=roc-pc make image

That looks right but you must use u-boot 202104 or newer and then rock64 config for the u-boot helper.

I don't know if LE added build instructions for M1(ROC-PC-RK3328) yet but the kernel dts file was added recently.

    This image is for M1

You can also try images I made some time ago.

I don't know if they changed things for Widevine, Netflix, so not sure if that will still work in my images.

Here is the code I changed to build it.

There is a bug, missing driver in the mainline images that make videos stutter on RK3328 if running LE from a micro-sd card while emmc is not erased(still has Android on).

I fixed it in my images by using Armbian RAM scaling speed patches for RK3328 above.

Hopefully new drivers for the RAM speed will be made for the mainline kernel and make it's way into LE in future.

  • Hi all and thanks for your work. I want to share my experience with different images botting from SD in my Neox X7:

LibreELEC-ARMv7.arm-11.0-devel-20210818064457-34fd57d-rk3188: boots correctly, wifi working with an USB dongle, excelent video play, can´'t connect via ssh (yes I can) , installation to EMMC from Kodi menu not working.

    LibreELEC-ARMv7.arm-11.0-devel-20210920100043-8bd19d9-rk3188: does not boot

I haven´t found any more recent images for RK3188, any plan to release newer ones in the future?

Thanks again for your time and dedication.

  • noticed that rock64 does not trigger bt2020 / rec2020 even when playing hdr contents at least on sony bravia.

  • After installing armbiam, we have been able to install LibreELEC-ARMv8.aarch64-11.0-devel-20211115172918-8bd19d9-rk3328.img without problems in tv box HK1 (rk 3318) the dtb rk 3318 (it has not been possible to do it directly from Android, does not start libreelec). Hardware video decoding works fine, but Wi-Fi and bluetooth (BCM 4330) don't work, and using install2emmc produces a brick that forces the romstock to be installed. Is there any information we can contribute to help with the development?
