Hi everyone,
I'm looking for LibreELEC Leia for S805, from what I've seen s805 is not supported by the official source code, correct me if I'l wrong. If so is anyone working on it. It would be awesome to bring those box back from the dead as I don't think that I'm the only one having one spared.

AFAIK, there is no support for S805 on LE9 (Kodi 18) (and I doubt anyone will bother developing for a legacy device) - If you really need Kodi 18 then you'd be better off investing in a cheap Chinese AML box or an RPi3.
I have many "dead" boxes - RPi1, Cubox, Cubox-i, so I appreciate your desire to reuse "old" HW.

Thanks for your reply,
Actually I don't think it's a Kodi 18 issue, but more about adapting the LibreElec code, since I managed to get OSMC for Vero 2 to run on my s805. And I'm using Kodi Leia from their nightly repository. but It is more for getting the possibility to use Kodi from the SD card and keeping android on the nand.

There's no generic S805 image but there's a couple of community releases in these forums which you can experiment with .. it'll be a trial and error process to find something that works.

Hi and thanks for your reply, could you point me on the direction of those community release. I can try and see how it works out.

I don't keep track of them all .. but they're all in this section of the forums.

Not sure if we're allowed to link directly, but look for AlexELEC 3.0.3 - the guy that builds these suggests it should work on the S805.
I haven't tested yet, but his releases are generally stable.

Every now and then I glance https://yadi.sk/d/m6p1mlubuhchg/s805
The developer (balbes150) is actively working on s912, but sometimes he updates s805 (more often Armbian than LE).
He posts about s912/s812 here: Test LibreELEC images with KODI-18 for S9xxx
and, as stated here: Test LibreELEC images with KODI-18 for S9xxx
he is still considering s805:
"... All my images now use only the new kernel 4.x (might be an exception for S812\S805 to release the base of support in the mainstream kernel)".

Amlogic meson 8/8b/8m2 hardware (S802/805/812) has reasonable mainline kernel support as much of the IP is common with the newer GXBB (S905) platform. The missing and essential driver for LE support on newer kernels is an HDMI driver. One of the Linux community developers has taken the work done for the GX platform driver and is trying to adapt it, but so far there's no eureka moment. If/once that happens it should be reasonably simple to come up with a working LE image (as is the wonderfulness of working with a modern kernel).

Thank's for the insight. I will give it a try

Yes, I've been there when I was searching for a build but the last build for s805 is LibreElec 8.2. I will take a deaper look into it when I have more time may be if the code support s805 on libreelec 9 I will try to compile it myself.

I've just installed Alexelec 3.0.4 on an old S805 MXQ. Kodi version is 18.2 RC1. Everything seems fine so far.

Hi , netflix working?
-
Sorry, I can't test Netflix. I don't have a subscription.
-
I find LE Krypton to be reasonably unstable on my M8S S812 box, it tend to lock up easily if over stressed, which can be triggered by something as simple as navigating to fast. I don't see it been up to the task.
