Need help Kodi 18 Leia Build on S905

  • Try it out. I switched from LE to CE about two months ago. Virtually the same. Only issue I've been having is that after a library update the box is sluggish, but a reboot fixes it. That being said I expect that to improve as I've been through probably 2 or 3 CE updates and each seems to improve the experience.

before i try just one more question, arent there any device trees for coreelec?

when you create the coreelec image, there is a folder with several device trees.

Samsung RU7400 Onkyo HTX22HDX Nvidia Shield HD Homerun Duo (Living Room)

Samsung UE40ES5500 H96 Pro, X96+, Fire TV 4K Stick (Bedroom)

    Synology DS414 Plex Pass

the device tree that came with the image actually didnt work, i had to take the old dtb.img from my libreelec to get it running.

  • Coreelec is working well at the moment. The most stable version so far seems to be 8.90.4, but the current version 8.95.2 seems very usable as a daily driver. Fresh install is the best.

I am currently running the nightly builds and they work fine with few major issues. Bare in mind though that many of the Skins and Addons out there are incompatible with the latest versions of Leia and they probably wont be upgraded until the final release candidate's come out - whenever that is.

i have problems with coreelec and with the librelec build from the yandex source, so both dont work for me!

coreelec has the known remote control issue so i used this toturial to fix it: How to configure IR remote control - HowTo - CoreELEC Forums

but when i log in with SSH and try to use the

    Code
    1. ir-keytable -a /storage/.config/rc_maps.cfg -s rc0

it says "folder and file not found", but i copied all needed files to the correct folder on the stick. and if i try the

    Code
    1. ir-keytable -t

it says "no remote device found"

thats my problems with the provided coreelec build.

now the libreelec builds, from the yandex source: i write the image to an USB-Stick and when i boot from it it says "log in to rescue console, path storage not found" or something like that. i tried like 4 different builds from that source and they all gave the same error.

someone has an idea how to fix one of those problems?

  • Did you do exactly ALL steps before this command, as explained there?

    ODROID N2_S922 4G - 1GB Ethernet, X92_S912_q201 3/32G - 1GB Ethernet Box_Android 7.1.2, Mocool KM8_S905X 2/16 0.1GB Ethernet Box_Android 8.0, X96Mini_S905W 2/16G 0.1GB Ethernet Box_Android 7.1.2

  • you need to copy the files over to

    /storage/.config/rc_keymaps

    & rc_maps.cfg to /storage/.config

    :)

  • that's not the path you put. i copied the files over to the sticks /.config/ and /.config/rc_keymaps/

I use coreftp lite to copy & move files, I find it easier that ssh.
