So, you are KodiKing on CE forum ? If so, then your ethernet IS working, as KodiKing there explained, but in his case only 100Mbit/s, not 1000Mbit/s like mine or everybody elses.
OK, you stand out as one in a hundred for whom it didn't work.
Btw, I didn't see your posts on CE forum mentioning this mysterious error/bug. Can you point me in the right direction ?
yes now its running. But you must update the SPI before!!!
Interesting.., just 6 hours ago it didn't.., acording to you.
The truth is ethernet worked from first alfa buld of CoreElece for ODROID N2 whether you like it or not.
One can, but it's not recomended.
Try making a backup of your present LE, make a fresh install of CE_9.0.1 and restore your backup. Usually that will work OK, if it doesn't you are left with only one option...
Also, during my testing of LE 9.0.1 on Le Potato I had major issues (massive stuttering) with live TV (DVB-S). Not sure if this is specific to Le Potato (I don't have any other Amlogic devices) but don't have this issue in CE.
How can it be Le Potato issue, when there is no issue on CE?
Hello all, been reading over the posts and content on the site am glad this is such a helpful community. Was wondering if I could get some info as I have become a little confused on how to proceed. Just purchased a X96 mini 2g/16g for my wife's home office TV and looking to run a stable version of LE on it. Which build should I run and where can I find it, and do I need a special dtb.img? I will be running LE off of a SD card. Thanks for the help in advance and I do apologize for the noobie questions, I just don't want to brick the device.
I suggest you install CoreElec latest stable version 9.0 with Kodi Leia 18 on your new box. You can find every info here
Take care, there are new versions of X96 mini boxes that differ from old X96 boxes like mine, and they need a different dtb.img file.
Very different user profile - different requirements - not comparable.
Yes I know, some users want to use a cheap amlogic box like a personal computer
Don't see why not use it when it does everything I need, and cheep is only another plus
Well, I use my X92 box at home and on the move, and most of the time I use HBO Go Eu and Netflix Kodi addons.
Netflix at 720p (Sw decode) and HBO Go Eu (1080p Hw decode) work perfectly.
Prefer these addons to my smart tv apps because of my intensive use of subtitles which are a disgrace on my tv apps.
Glad that it finaly works for you.
Must say that I never experienced any unsolvable problem on beta versions
First find out the IP address of your router.
Example for manual settings on LE for router's IP 192.168.1.1
IP address: 192.168.1.10
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.1.1 (IP address of your router)
DNS servers IP adresses:
First: 192.168.1.1 (IP address of your router)
Must save all settings and reboot to work properly.
Do you happen to have a working Remote.conf for the box, would you share it perhaps?
No, I use Rii mini i8+ keyboard with all my boxes. Use original remote only to turn the box on.
Thank you for that answer. I am downloading CoreELEC right now. Hopefully I can get it run like you have.
Would have preferred the new LibreELE
I prefer Kodi 18, so not interested in LE any more. Besides that CE is focused only on Amlogic boxes...
I have an X96 mini with S905W 2Gb box and run CoreElec 8.95.7 (and many previous versions as well) without any wifi issues.
Just check that you use proper dtb.img file.
On LibreELEC-S905.arm-8.2-220.127.116.11 I used (if I remeber correctly) gxl_p212_2g.dtb.
With CoreELEC-S905.arm-8.95.7 I use gxl_p281_2g.dtb
Why? It does not interfere in any way with any OS on SD/USB and it may come to your interest some day.
