ETA on libreelec 8.2

Sorry for the question, but my to brothers are waiting for the libreelec 8.2. Update (dazn needs the new inputstream.adaptive) and I keep telling them it can't take to long and they should wait for the official release since they use it on a daily basis. However it has been some time since the 8.1.1. Beta and still now rc, and in the comments I couldn't find what the reason is in the forum. Is there any major bug I am not aware of or can you tell me what an eta for the first rc or the official build is?

There's method to our release management approach but people have busy day jobs. We've accumulated quite a few changes since 8.1.1 so there's likely to be an 8.1.2 beta before 8.2.0 .. but that makes zero difference to inputstream.adaptive which is already at the current latest version in the 8.2 repo (used by 8.1.0/8.1.1 releases).

i am not challenging your release management, I am just asking for an update on weather there are any more bugs we should be aware of.

I'm confident there are plenty of unknown and unresolved bugs lurking in our codebase .. life isn't perfect

Comparing 8.1.1...libreelec-8.2 · LibreELEC/LibreELEC.tv · GitHub is all the stuff we added since 8.1.1, there will be an 8.1.2 release.

i see a fix for the krack bug has been introduced into the branch. Are you planning to release a 8.1.3. Or are you going for 8.2. Directly?

Current intention is 8.2.0 once Kodi 17.5 is released.

oh thanks, I wasn't aware of any 17.5. Release (thought 17.4 was supposed to be the last one).

Images are in team testing which will take a couple of days (some are travelling) .. so probably by the weekend.

Sorry you'r right..I ment about the problem which few users are having with CEC...the issue when you change hdmi input to other device and back to kodi and cec won't wake up Kodi or when kodi is on standbye and Cec won't wake it up..issue is better discussed on this thread Wake from suspend (CEC) .

I don't see the PR for Intel HBR audio passthrough anymore, not sure if it's been removed to merged already? ELD patch is not need anymore, right?

the patch isn't correctly working with the kernel version used at LE8.2
