which hardware/device and build are you using?

same (6.003 with wetek.play)…

RPI 3
build LibreELEC (Jarvis 16.1-RC2) v6.90.003 -
I'm running a build freshly generated from the git master branch on my Pi3 and can't reproduce this issue. Is there anything in the logs? It could be file corruption on the SD card.

same (6.003 with wetek.play)…any chance you can try a clean install
LibreELEC-WeTek_Play.arm-6.90.004.img.gz -
Same problem here on a rpi1 and rp2 with clean install
both running on 6.90.005

Skin settings won't save
skin settings not saving
Skin settings not being retained profile to profile in Jarvis
Jarvis Skin SettingsIt seems to be a Kodi issue in itself, so read the above threads and see if they contain anything that might help.

There should be a workaround, to save settings when you exit Kodi cleanly. Problem: for RPi2 there is no option in the power menu to "exit" Kodi, but to shutdown or reboot. So any ideas?
I've tried standby, shutdown, restart/stop/start by systemctl, nothing fixed it.

As I said this doesn't fix it for me.

Make your settings in the Skin and when you finish switch to another Skin in the settings and then back to your Skin.
Then the settings are saved when you switching the Skin. -

Thanks for this ad-hoc workaround, but this is a very annoying bug.
It does not seem a generic (all platform) Kodi bug: would the issue lie on LibreELEC remit? -
It does not seem a generic (all platform) Kodi bug: would the issue lie on LibreELEC remit?Read the posts I linked above. It's (at least) reported on Android, Windows, IOs and OpenELEC, what makes you think it's LibreELEC only?

Did not have it on Kodi v16.1 “Jarvis” RC2 on Mac.
BTW, foreign language had to be installed afterwards through repo, and activation was performed automatically (and properly saved I guess) at installation.
Maybe issue comes with distributions that includes pre-packages languages? -
