Can you make a bug report on kodi trac? Include your log file, and possibly a snipet of the video you are trying to play.
ok, done
#17166 (Problem with some videos)
– Kodi - TRAC
but i ve no sniped, hope this is no problem.
With ffmpeg you can create snippets.
Can you tell me how much ram you have available?
Can you upload the entire log zipfile?
From a discussion with one of the Kodi developers this is an issue with VDPAU and the lack of RAM on the GPU - it's basically about old (out of spec) hardware being used. If you are lucky the laptop has enough CPU power to software decode things with VDPAU disabled, but I doubt that's an option with higher bitrates and larger file sized content. It's time to ask Santa to upgrade the 2007-era laptop to a more modern HTPC device.
thx
how can i disable VDPAU?
@Irusak

Vdpau is disabled in the kodi settings. You might have to set the settings level to expert to see it.
THX, the movies runs now
