[UNOFFICIAL][LE12][RK3228/RK3229][box] LibreELEC builds

  • Now videos play back completely normally from the USB thumbstick. I'm curious, what was the problem in the previous build?

The problem is here: https://github.com/rk-unofficial-…-dts.patch#L492 I messed up the hardware decoder's clock frequencies, which stopped working properly. Unfortunately, I did this without retesting all the possible codecs. It's my fault.

I can access the Kodi add-on repository, but not the LibreELEC add-ons repo

I just tested it and everything works fine, while in your case I see a timeout that I don't know how to explain unless it's a problem with your network or temporary problems with the official repository

Alright, maybe I'll try to connect the repository later.

    Thank you for the bugfix!

Is working great on my generic 1GB box. Thanks for the work! Video with the Lima driver is very nice

  • Ok, im here because i need help with an MXQ Pro 4k 5G (rev r3229q-221P-v1.3), who has an unworking wifi chip. I tried putting the Armbian driver on /lib/firmware because i thought that would work (SPOILER: it didnt), so i was left with 2 solutions:

    1. Downloading a bunch of movies and dont use internet at all.

    2. Putting a ethernet cable from my bedroom (2nd floor) ALL THE WAY to the living room (1st floor).

So clearly none of those work for me so im here to ask:

There is a fix for this?

Drivers are not firmware and need to be added to different locations. You cannot overlay drivers without compiling a custom image to add the function to do that, but then you might as well just compile the driver normally.

  • I have an X96mini clone where the box label says it is 4GB RAM (it is 1GB) and the SoC is silk screened as S905W (it is RK3228A 1.2Ghz SoC). As I posted above it runs great on the 3/11 build of 12.2 using the generic dtb, but I am following up to say it is so much more responsive after enabling DDR3 and higher CPU speed with the rk322x-box-mxq4kpro.dtb. With a heat sink and 5V fan, it makes a good media PC

  • Thank you for this build, works well on i95 box. i believe it has s906 inside, i have reflashed my SD a few times due to some settings becoming corrupt and once the audio stopped working entirely. for the libreelec 12 i would like to point out it did not work with Balena Etcher which i already had installed and did use previously for this sometime ago, it was probably not for libreelec 12 though as that seems to have been released in 2026 and it didnt work with Balena Etcher i recieved unhandled exception.
