Something has broken, TV files not scanning in (TVDB issues?)

My system the TVDB scanning plugin / media source seemed to just disappear, I don't know why!?

I fixed it 2 days ago by re-grabbing the plugin in "get more" information providers.

This has worked fine at the time, scanning in my library of TV shows again (movies, not impacted)

I just found 2 episodes of One Punch man, not updating, I don't know why?

The file permissions are correct, Kodi can even play them under the 'files' menu.

I've re-scanned the folder, it won't import them.

I even checked that TVDB does recognise the files exist.

What could it be ?

Check if this helps Library can't find info for some movies: "No information found for item"

I just pulled this from a debug log, bear in mind, 7 of these files ARE scanned in fine and the show is on the TVDB database?!

Episode 8 and 9 - won't scan in. Perhaps ALL of them won't scan in (???) however 1-7 were already there? Shrug.

That thread is not useful, my filenames are flawless and the video tags option, is not enabled.

I think the problem is with filename.

Your episode 09 has this name "The Ultimate Dilemma", but in TVDB the name is "The Troubles of the Stronges".

I think if you rename your episode like is in TVDB will solve this.

I personally use XEM scraper for animes, because with it I can use AniDB informations, that I think is more good for animes.

TVDB and AniDb has different names for some episodes. Check here TVDB and AniDB.

I thought that Kodi tends to only worry about the filename numbers

"Show Name (Season) (Episode)"

So you could name a file:

Dexter S01E01 THE QUICK BROWN FOX LOL.AVI

and it would still detect it, correctly?

None the less, I'm forcing a refresh in sickchill and a rename. So I'll see in a moment (thank you for reply!)

The episode name/title isn't required.

I only name episodes like: "Seinfeld (S03E10).mkv"

Kodi picks rest of the info from (in my case) TMDB.

You guys are correct. I didn't know that. I tested here rename a file with One Punch Man S02E09 Edjalmo and Kodi found info. Sorry!

Correct naming should solve Your issue.

I added new series few days back using naming as stated in post #7.
