I’d be keen to give it a try. Should this be ok on an Intel NUC?
I’ve got a NUC8 with HDR TV and HDR content.

Works but no audio

Sure.
Works but no audio
HDMI audio should work. There could be an issue with the bluetooth audio - I had a problem compiling BlueZ with the new kernel.
I updated the image with the patches from feature_drmprive-vaapi branch that I missed earlier:
LibreELEC-Generic.x86_64-9.1-devel-20190513220151-6b93ae6.img.gz
Does it support bitstream audio on a NUC 8 ?

no-go on a KBL-U Chromebox. No video on playback (though Kodi believes it is playing), TV not in HDR mode

Well, I guess some bits are still missing.
Current patches target Gemini Lake and up and not all the patches required are in public repo's (or they are but scattered over many branches so your chances of picking the winning combinations are rather slim). Give it some time
NUC8I3BEH2
SONY STR-DN1080
LG 49SJ810V
with this build I have no picture and no sound .......
some tips, news?
Intel folks appear to have been on vacation (en masse) so not much activity in the last week.
some news?
It basically works on Gemini lake + hardware and various patch-series got merged upstream in the kernel and mesa. The next LE release will be LE 9.2 .. but still based on Kodi v18(.2 or .3 maybe) and with not-quite the bits needed. TL/DR; HDR will be a Kodi v19 thing and alpha releases for that are still some way off. Milhouse nightlies are pre-Alpha and there's are still some large plumbing changes to drop (old stuff being removed, some new stuff to come in) before the codebase starts to show the outlines of what the final release might be.

thanks
is there an easy way to build yourself an image?
I use Gemini lake
Hdr in the new update

Tom,
Which exact libreelec image you tried? I want to give it a shot.. I'm using Coffee Lake.
Does anyone know the cheapest Intel NUC which should do 4k, 60hz HDR?
Would the celeron or pentium series be capable or do you need i3 / Bean Canyon.
(obviously, it sounds like it isn't working at all for final code, but is it working in alpha / beta?)
NUC7CJYH and NUC7PJYH are the cheap ones with Celeron and Pentium processors.
Otherwise it's NUC8i3BEH & NUC8i3BEK (more expensive than Celeron / Pentium)
