[SOLVED] Reboot and Shutdown Crash

Hardware: Raspberry Pi, Model 3B+

Software: LibreELEC 8.90.005

Bug Appearing: reboot or shutdown triggered from LibreELEC menu, does not appear every time

At least two forum users and me got that bug. See this thread for details.

Unfortunately this is not a debuglog.

If you are facing that problem more often but you can´t tell when it will happen (so hard to reproduce), I would recommend to enable logging via the advancedsettings.xml:

That should enable debug logging but without that annoying overlay on the screen.

It doesn't takes many reboots to reproduce the bug.

Here is the kodi.log at log level 1, read from MicroSD card right after the crash.

Well...I can't see much in that log. Is that the kodi.log after the reboot? If so, we also might need the kodi.old.log which might show the error then.

Kodi logfiles are safed in that way:

current session = /storage/.kodi/temp/kodi.log

last session = /storage/.kodi/temp/kodi.old.log

So if you Kodi reboots and you will grab the kodi.log, then that's from the currently running session. Please show us both logs.

No, because the triggered reboot has not been finished - it crashed. The kodi.log has been taken right after a reboot crash. At that point, there was no SSH connection anymore, so I had to read the log files directly from MicroSD card.

Here is the kodi.old.log, taken at the same time like kodi.log (see above). If you compare both files, you will see additional errors at kodi.log (the crash log).

No there aren't any differences.

If Kodi crashes there should also be a crashlog. But I guess we have what we need from the kodi.old.log

This was already ticketed and a fix is in progress. We're just waiting on 8.90.006 to be released so we can test and confirm it's fixed.

That's good. You should mark your initial thread as "ticketed" or "bug reported". That will spare other people, who want to help too, a lot of time.

The bug doesn't appear on LibreELEC 8.90.006 so far.

I think it's solved, but I will do some more shutdowns/reboots before I mark this thread as solved.

After 20+ reboots / shutdowns the error does not appears in LibreELEC 8.90.006 anymore. Thanx for fixing the bug!
