  • All focus for LibreELEC is on Rockchip RK3328 now then RK3399 developer boards.

So things won't work correctly at the moment or be fixed soon for RK3399 tv boxes.

I have a RK3328 MX10 device with 4gb RAM/32gb NAND. Currently I can't install LE on SD card for this box - just get scrolling pages of text at bootup - not a problem as I have LE running on S905x boxes.

Are there plans to enable LE for more RK3328 devices or is support to be limited to the current devices?

    Thanks.

    Thanks.

They should be able to add support for more devices later but then the developers will need sample devices from the manufacturers and documentation to help. As development board are mostly added for RK3399, RK3328, those manufacturers were already in contact with several LE developers to help them with their devices. Can test the generic rk3328 images and see what doesn't work and try to change the dts, uboot files manually to be compatible with the different hardware, but there aren't a lot of people that do tests etc. for Rockchip devices compared to eg. Amlogic S905 devices at the moment.

  • well I wanted to try and start using something gave

    IT BOOTED INTO KODI :D

But no Local LAN using 169 range instead of our 192 range

while look at network settings in kodi

if I pull the network plug it goes in an unconnected state

and it does go back to connected state when I plug back in

just unsure why it has not obtained IP from DHCP server here

as soon as i put it from auto to DHCP it started doing reboot loops

I am using an old 2gig card ~5meg write speed that raspberry-pi did not like so it could be a faulty card and or dodgy writer , can not find my good R/W

how can I get into the terminal ? without networking I can not ssh in and tried a few Function keys and combo's unsure what is needed for acess

    CTL + ALT + F3 ? = Nothing

    and no networking...

    how can I download

    System Tools 8.1.104

installed virtual.system-tools-9.0.108.zip no terminal window opened :S

Still unsure why network is not working it see's a network card that knows when it is connected / disconnected and speed , but even if manually setting IP etc it can not be pinged or ping anything else >?

  • this is the rk3399-h96max.dtb that someone else was using in their project

I could not get it to boot with it however (yet)

but I did get an dtb working from an image for this

    X99 TV BOX - RK3399 Mali - T860MP4 4/32GB ROM A7.1 HDR10 Dual WiFi BT4.1

    MEGA

wifi see's network but unable to enter password , and still no working wired LAN and USB mounting did not pickup

    rk3399-skykirinx99.dtb

*edit* managed to get the device tree from my booted Android box

    h96-max-rk3399.dts + h96-max-rk3399.dtb

  • I've extracted the DTB from latest H96 MAX Android 7.1.2 firmware and tried to use it with the current build for RockPro64. It boots fine and the ethernet works but there is no sound over HDMI.

After playing with the DTB a bit I got the HDMI audio to work so the box is now at least usable for basic streaming over LAN.

    What works:

    - HDMI (both audio and video)

    - GPU and VPU acceleration
    - LAN

    - USB (both 2.0 and 3.0)

    What does NOT work:

    - WiFi and BT (possibly QCA9377 using SDIO)

    - IR

    - deinterlacing

  • What is the current status with LibreELEC and the H96 MAX RK3399 ?

I also have one of those boxes and I'd be happy wouldn't have to run Kodi on Android on this box anymore.

And if anybody has the H96 MAX RK3399 running LibreELEC successfully, I'd appreciate an explanation on how to make the switch. :)

  • looks like the sdcard I left in the slot no longer wants to boot ,

    trying again KOPRajs  thanks

verified working so far , just downloaded your firmware and tossed it onto rockpro64 image and it worked :P

    with networking :D

sadly same issue black screen with 10 bit stuff etc but i guess that is to be expected if were still trying to use the original firmware ...

and SPDIF just drops in and out :S
