Hi,

BluRay menu will work for those menus which are not BD-J
For anything else...no. See: Add built-in Java support
I just wanted to chime in and stress that Blu-ray menu support would be a really welcome addition for many people. Is it technically possible to add this via a plugin at least? (I apologize if the question is stupid, basically my knowledge of Linux is nonexistent. But Java IS available for Linux, so there should be a possibility?)
yes but it is too complicated for a free project
It's not that complicated, but (as per your other thread) complexity is not the issue.
Wouldn't it be enough to have a JRE installed on the system? Kodi comes with a built-in libbluray that relies on a running java runtime.
I think BD-j is disabled in the libbluray package on libreelec when the team compile it.
that's not the point.
As I said in the other thread, just give the user an option to make it possible Whether it's via ssh or a built-in feature to install the package doesn't seem important to me. It's just important that the option is available somehow. Then everybody can decide by himself.
novalis, try it. Just download jre from sun, extract it and set some java environment variable and run kodi. Maybe it would work
I would try it but don't have any appropriate sample to test.
In case it is missed: Add built-in Java support
I leave that to the developers
closed - working add-on at the thread above
