Same problem here. Got a new Minix U9-H. Chose the right device tree, tried it with three different SD cards (Samsung, SanDisk and some noname for good measure) and every time
"could not mount LABEL=LIBREELEC_DISK"

For all those having issues...
There has to be a common theme here, as some users are having issues and others none at all.
What Software is everyone using to flash the LE image ?
For example I'm not having issues using a Sandisk Class 10 microSHDC card.
I flashed LE using the Terminal App on a macOS iMac.
And this is the U9 dtb.img I'm using:
-
I tried to flash with Rufus and Etcher (both never made any trouble with LE before).
I used this device tree: gxm_q200_2g.dtb
and this image: LibreELEC-S912.arm-8.2-8.2.1.1.img.gz
-
Success!
With the device tree from wrxtasy - dtb.img - the U9 boots into LE without any problems - directly from SD card!!
-
I have the problem too
The card works very well in a USB card reader, and don't work at all in the U9-H SD card slot.
SD card: Sandisk 32gb ultra class 10 micro sdhc flashed with LibreELEC.USB-SD.Creator.Win32.exe
-
Success !
Solved when i read the post from rito about the tdb.img of wrxtasy.
Thanks a lot guys !!

wrxtasy Can you share the source of your dtb so that I can include it in my builds?
-
Thanks guys. I too could not get LE to boot directly from the SD card but it would work fine if I put the card in a usb reader. Running the upgrade with the device tree posted here solved the problem. I no longer have to rely on the usb reader. Thanks again.

I remember decompiling the U9 Android dtb.img and adding specific patches for the Nougat Kernel compatibility:
This is the likely source: (its been a while since I did any S912 compiling)

Thanks guys, this worked like a charm for me too! I was working on the USB LE(8.2.1.1) and had ran a backup before switching to the SDcard, but the restore failed horribly. Too lazy to resetup everything via the SDcard. I'll wait for once it fails oneday then take the SDcard route.

Is this the image that you used rito on your SD card?

Thank you very much for solving this problem!
You are the best!
Anyway, it was possible to live with USB Reader, but dropped frames with subtitles is terrible.

no, that's another one. This one was working for me: dtb.img

Please test this device tree:
It should make RTC and analog audio work but my concern is whether it boots.
-
8.2.2.1a + gxm_q200_2g_minix_neo_u9.dtb = OK
Only this problem remains:
-
Why don't you use it if it works? I cannot support device trees provided by other users, especially when they come without a source code. My device tree repo is open for PRs if anyone wants to contribute.
Kszaq, do you have a build for the Minix U9-H? How would I install it on a brand new stock box? I'm a bit of a noob.

It booted fine for me. Solved my problem booting from the TF slot. Thank you!
