There's a version of Alexelec for this device running the latest Kodi 18.4.

Thanks gujal but my box is an MXIII (not plus) S802, 1Gb and neither of those images will boot. They hang on the LibreElec boot screen as with most other images that I've found for this box.
-
Since these images are for the MXIII-PLUS, would they even work with the original MXIII (the one with the red 4K logo) 1G/8G or 2G/8G models properly? They're both S802 based not S812.
exactly same issue here om mxiii 1g/8g older version works fine
Have any of you had any luck finding a Kodi 18 version which works with these boxes. I've tried all *Elec versions that I can find and none of them boot on this box. Demetris's LibreELEC-S8X2.arm-8.2.3-MXIII-1G.img is the last working image I can find.

Sorry, I can't test Netflix. I don't have a subscription.

I've just installed Alexelec 3.0.4 on an old S805 MXQ. Kodi version is 18.2 RC1. Everything seems fine so far.
-
On another note i find i don't use the newer methods of installing on the older S8xx and older boxes, i always install straight to the box...........
buzzmarshall Do you have a working version of CoreElec for S805 chipset? I'm sure that there are thousands of these boxes out there which could be saved from landfill.

What about running from a 32Gb micro SD?

Does HDMI CEC work OK?
Not on my 2009 Panasonic plasma, but neither does my S805 MXQ or my MK808b+ so maybe it's the television.
-
SJoneZ It wasn't listed as Akaso but there was a leaflet in the box advertising other Akaso products.
-
Just bought an Akaso TX95 from UK auction site, 2Gb RAM, 16Gb storage, dual band WIFI for less than £30. I was expecting the cheap WIFI chip but was pleasantly surprised when LibreElec booted with dual band WIFI. Everything works fine. I would recommend this box condidering the spec for the price.

Hi all,
I'm having a problem with my remote on the latest builds. I copy remote.conf to the SD card before installing the build. After installation to NAND everything works fine as normal but if I leave the box turned on and don't use it for a while, when I return to it the remote doesn't work. Even if I reboot then the remote still doesn't work. I have now added remote.conf to 'configfiles' and the box now responds after a reboot but will still lose the remote if left idle for a while. Any ideas?

See post 1:
Code
- tune2fs -L LIBREELEC_DISK /dev/data
New installations from recovery:
You will need an ext3 formated SD card or USB drive with LIBREELEC_DISK label for the first boot. Then you can change the label of internal NAND storage partition as described above if you want to use it instead of the external storage. -
Thanks for replying, yes of course, always power off & reboot. I tried everything...but the remote is not working...wifi, video, audio..all ok. It is getting me mad...

I tried looking for a reliable tool to format an SD card to EXT3 via Windows 7+ but could not find one so a Linux VM (with Ubuntu) was easier.

Hi Kszaq,
I can't run this at all on my all black MXQ. It just shows the 'MXQ' splash screen, flashes and then loops back. It does this on both SD card boot and NAND install.

It seems like your LED is connected to a GPIO port that is defined for some other system device in device tree. Do you have a link to original Android firmware that makes the LED work correctly?I don't have access to the original firmware. I must have tried dozens of different firmwares but none of them show my blue LED. This is the closest I've been to working correctly, the LED is red when it should be red and off when it should be blue.
