New hardware advice please.

I want to buy a new yet cheap box. Is there a list of supported hardware? Something I can get working with little fuss?

Maybe you may need to specify what you mean by "cheap"?

..and what do you mean by little fuss?

If you don't want anything fancy like 4K output or Hevc support - then you can't beat the Raspberry Pi.

Raspberry Pi 3 is always a safe bet.
