Have you read anything we link for you? :)
    3. S912: You need to choose device tree according to your Ethernet port speed and RAM amount.
So you go to 1Gbit_Ethernet folder and choose this: gxm_q200_2g.dtb

    RPI3 1GB, Z4 RK3368 1GB, MINI MX-G 2GB, Mini M8S II (coreelec.org 9.2.1), H96 Pro (coreelec.org 9.2.1), ODORID N2 (coreelec.org 9.2.1), VIM3 PRO (coreelec.org 9.2.1), Beelink GT King (coreelec.org 9.2.1), Denon AVR-X2600H, LG 60SJ810V

  • OP updated with 8.0-alpha-preview3. GUI rendering performance is not much better to my eyes. Other issues remain.

  • Thank you for the new preview!

I tried with the provided 3g dtb and with my dtb but cannot pass the third welcome screen
Also cannot turn on ssh or samba in the previous screen.
I also tried without any dtb (stuck on first screen) and with the default dtb (stuck at boot logo).
So it just doesn't work for me.

Edit: Went back the preview2 and same behavior so the problem is on my side. I changed the android firmware since the last test.

Sorry I thought all S912 has gigabit ethernet...
The default dtb contains gxm_q201_2g.dtb (among others)
But you can try the 100mbit folder there is gxm_q201_2g.dtb

From here Index of /s912/device_trees/ you choose what ethernet you have, in your case it seems to be 1Gbit .

from that you select the one that has your ram, ie 2GB

That would be the device tree you need.

Samsung RU7400 Onkyo HTX22HDX Nvidia Shield HD Homerun Duo (Living Room)

    Samsung UE40ES5500 X96 Max+, Fire TV 4K Stick (Bedroom)

    Synology DS920+ Plex Pass

    :)

  • yadvb is this your box - "Tanix TX8 Android 6.0 Marshmallow Amlogic S912 TV BOX 2G/32G 802.11ac WIFI Bluetooth KODI 1000M LAN"?

Try downloading this dtb.img, rename the file "gxm_q200_2g.dtb" to "dtb.img", and copy to sd card ( overwrite the file in there) after you install libreelec on sd card.

Thank you, it works very well some crash

  • Early days on this, but good progress given the lack of drivers. Thanks, kszaq.

Apart from the crashing thing, GUI performance is excellent now.

Still can't access my NAS's shared folder through CIFS/SMB. All the settings are right at both ends. Works fine on other LibreElec boxes. Error Code 2. Any clues?

  • Thank you, it works very well some crash

You are welcome! "Some crash" it's a minor problem for libreelec on S912 Soc. Until last week there was no hope to use LE on S912 "space ships".
So, be glad that something works! Buy kszaq a coffee and maybe in a few months you will get better and stable builds!

  • Tried "alpha-preview3" on a BB2 pro(3gb DDR4) and after minimum testing;

    -remote works
    -WiFi works
-interface is fast with minimal graphical glitch
-only crashed when trying to reboot/power down from Kodi interface

    Great work kszaq

  • Are you trying to install to internal memory? If not, it looks like your bootloader tried to load the system from memory card but doesn't supply bootfromext parameter.
