What can I do to make user data partition writable?
Perhaps mount -o rw /storage would help. But that's a guess since I haven't seen any logs and did not experience this issue my self. If you can journalctl -a | paste from the read-only system...

Hi Marck,
i´ve both a H96pro+ and the Beelink GT1 Ultimate. These two a nearly together. My feeling, also subjective :), is, that the Beelink has a little more performance. But on both boxes the kszaq builds run like charm. So if you decide between those two, you can't make a mistake
Gretes,

Hi, thank you for having responded to me and for advice, they explained that the H96pro + and MECOOL M8S PRO wifi are more powerful compared to the Beelink GT1 Ultimate, the H96pro + tends to warm up. From what I understand, the MECOOL M8S PRO manages the dual-boot android-LibreELEC.
This is what they explained to me:

Budget AMLogic S905/S905X/S912 Media Player Options
Thanks again for the advice.
marck120 Every S905(X/D)/S912 device (except for Xiaomi) can dual-boot LE and Android.

The S912 MECOOL M8S Pro has Widewine L1 and HDCP 1.x certificates. You can might be able to get 1080p Android TV Netflix from it with the right Android TV ROM from Freaktab

That would be the MECOOL-M8S-PRO-L. Don't forget the L.

So this is the right one to buy?
What the difference with MECOOL BB2 PRO apart Netflix hd?

A quick scan shows me the "MECOOL M8s PRO L" lacks spdif /optical.

BB2 has wifi antenna, so maybe reception is better, but I don't know if Libreelec wifi driver is available.
Perhaps mount -o rw /storage would help. But that's a guess since I haven't seen any logs and did not experience this issue my self. If you can journalctl -a | paste from the read-only system...
Hi kszaq
Running journalctl -a | paste was able get logs
Running mount -o rw /storage showed
mount: can't find /storage in /etc/fstab
Thanks

I have a Beelink MiniMX III II that lacks Widevine Level 1 support but does have excellent wifi and bluetooth. I also have a MECOOL M8S Pro+ which does have Widevine Level 1 and plays Netflix superbly but no bluetooth and crappy wifi.
It's like they are doing this on purpose. I'm done though and won't buy another media player, just a good remote (which is quite a query too).
Only thing on my list I'd really like to have is smooth playing of Hi10P 1080p media. Impossible for now.

If it helps here is journalctl -a | paste of the working 8.1.6 version to compare.
Thanks

Use this:
mount -o remount,rw /flash

8.1.8 from sd card:
LibreELEC:~ # mount -o rw /storage
mount: can't find /storage in /etc/fstab
/etc/fstab is empty (exists but 0 byte long)
@brooklyn:
mount -o remount,rw /flash does nothing
Any chance Dolby Vision and HLG are going to work on a s912 LibreElec box? The chip supports it.
I have a s905x now and I'm quite pleased with it. Apart from some demos which won't run properly due to the 100mbit NIC and the lack of DV and HLG, it plays everything I want.
But ... now that the S912 build keeps getting better, I'm thinking of replacing it.
Thanks to everyone for the advice and explanations.
From what I understand each box manages the dual-boot differently, on the webtek play2 box I explained that you can choose between android and LibreELEC by holding down the power button on the remote control. On the MECOOL M8S PRO I do not know how dual-boot is done. Personally with the s912 what box advises me ?
Widewine L1 and HDCP 1.x certification for what exactly does it work ? Netflix I do not use it, being a paid service I do not care.
Is the Mecool BB2 perfectly compatible with LibreELEC ? I have read that some models of the Mecool BB2 were removed from the market because they were defective.
The MECOOL M8S PRO seems to me to be poorly constructive, I also have to calculate the cost of the minix A2 lite, in the end maybe it's okay to go for the Minix Neo U9-H, unfortunately the price is still high.
