It works just fine if you use the Chromium add-on and enable widevine in the settings. All configurable in the add-on's settings.

@Borromini:
Do you know if this is also true for SkyGo in Germany? -

Thank for all your reply!
change question:
will ever be planned an app to view Netflix "out of the box" (just install, configure and enjoy?)
-
So as far as i have read now, there is already a plugin for SkyGo in the making which is actual working. We need Kodi 17 for it, so i will be patient for a few more months.

No, because in order to use netflix you must use libwidevinecdm.so which is not redisributable. So the use will always have to install this. We can make scripts to install this (like I have in chromium) but the user must initiate the process.

Hm. Playing Netflix from chromium is no problem (which is nice!). But I can not play Netflix from the Flix2KODI add on.

Ipaddle, responded to you on kodi forums. Essentially what I did was choose chromelauncher as browser in flix2kodi addon, not chromium. The path for the chromium start script is hardwired to /usr/bin/ path, whereas chromelauncher script uses kodi-send -a "RunAddon (browser.chromium)"
See .kodi/addons/plugin.video.flix2kodi/resources/scripts/launcher/linux for the gory details.
Now to get the remote working.

It's too bad Netflix doesn't provide for 5.1 audio streaming via the web browser. Looks like I can't get rid of my PS3 just yet.

What about incorporating a Linux android emulator into Libreelec in order to run Netflix and other streaming apps?
Edit: I don't mean that as a demand or anything, more so inquiring about the possibility of such a thing. Obviously, this would be a complicated task and really not worth putting a lot of effort into unless the idea of creating a joint kodi-Android environment seems like a worthwhile killer feature as a whole, and not just for utilizing streaming apps. I'm not familiar with the inner workings of Kodi, LibreElec, or any type of Android emulation, so I doubt it would be as simple as incorporating classic gaming emulators.

Hi I am getting Aw Snap! Error from within Chromium browser when I try to load Netflix.com.
I am using latest Alpha 10. -
Is there somewhere a detailed guide how to get Netflix running on a Raspberry Pi 3 with LibreELEX 8?

It's not possible
Oh really, I thaught that it is possible now via Chromium. Or is it a limitation of LibreELEC rather than the PI?

AFAIK you can't run Chromium on the RPi, only on x86_64(generic)
