For the DVB-C tuner version of the Hauppauge Wintv-Dual HD, can you confirm that you have the correct firmware?

Check if /lib/firmware has the file dvb-demod-si2168-b40-01.fw.

If not, here are the instructions to getting the firmware for the DVB-C tuner version of the Hauppauge Wintv-Dual HD and putting in the /lib/firmware.

Hopefully you will able to see the first tuner.

Sorry I only have the ATSC version of the Hauppauge Wintv-Dual HD, so I cannot verify these instructions.

    Code
    wget http://palosaari.fi/linux/v4l-dvb/firmware/Si2168/Si2168-B40/4.0.11/dvb-demod-si2168-b40-01.fw
    mv dvb-demod-si2168-b40-01.fw /lib/firmware/

Thanks for replying. I believe mine is ATSC as well, North American broadcast, correct? I also have the firmware in my lib/firmware folder.

Here is what dmesg is outputting:

I'm not very savvy in this arena, but I cannot even get one tuner listed in Tvheadend. I'm on Generic build LE version 8.0.2 and I read earlier in this topic that kernel 4.7 and up should support at least one tuner, but they won't show for me. Am I missing something?

Edit: I also tried creating a firmware file in storage/.config/ and adding all of the firmware available in this thread, but no dice. Any sort of help would be appreciated.

I've never used rTorrent with Kodi, but I do use transmission. I never could figure out how to set up docker with transmission, but by using this method transmission works as a stand alone addon like it did prior to Libreelec.

This method does require getting into your system via SSH. I don't even know what a cubox is so I probably won't be of much help beyond this point, and I don't think this forum really likes discussion about using unsupported addons which I assume is anything not in the Libreelec repo. Hope you get something working, though and feel free to pm me if you need to discuss further.

What about incorporating a Linux android emulator into Libreelec in order to run Netflix and other streaming apps?

Edit: I don't mean that as a demand or anything, more so inquiring about the possibility of such a thing. Obviously, this would be a complicated task and really not worth putting a lot of effort into unless the idea of creating a joint kodi-Android environment seems like a worthwhile killer feature as a whole, and not just for utilizing streaming apps. I'm not familiar with the inner workings of Kodi, LibreElec, or any type of Android emulation, so I doubt it would be as simple as incorporating classic gaming emulators.

The default skin doesn't allow you to add menu entries for favorites. So you need a special skin that allows you that.

    Gerald

Ah, my bad Gerald. I always forget that Confluence & Estuary do not allow that without some tinkering. Probably because after editing the home menu the way I wanted it via a certain skin, it has carried over into every Kodi version or skin I've changed to, even the default ones.

The problem of Plex Kodi Connect is that you need again special skins if you have more than one library with movies in PMS and wouldn't like to have them all mixed into one in Kodi.

Even worse problem is that it get crashed during initial library scan by the OOM killer on ARM devices because of lack of memory.

    Gerald

You don't need special skins in the same way you need them for PleXbmc. It's fairly easy to separate your movies/TV Shows into their correct libraries via special playlists.

I use the Plex Media Server addon that escalade started. It is pretty simple to use, too. Install it, configure your settings, and use the web client to manage your media.

To add the Plex media into my Kodi library I use an addon called Plex Kodi Connect. It adds the media from your plex server into your Kodi library without the need for a special skin.

    Hope that helps.

I have the same problem, If I edit the paths to my external USB HDD and restar the daemon then web client gives me the "connection failed" error... any help?

EDIT: FIXED!! It was an "space character" in a folder name from the path.
    it is working ok!

    S.O.S.!

I have tried to do this too. I changed the default directories in transmission.service to direct to an external HDD. It works during the downloading process but as soon as it is complete, the downloaded file gets moved onto the OS HDD somewhere in \Userdata\addon_data\service.system.docker\docker\overlay\. I have changed both the incomplete and downloads directories to point to the external drive, however, this continues to happen.

Also, apparently there is a limit on both download and upload speeds by default. I have changed this in settings.json in transmission/config and also in Dockerfiles-master/x86_64/transmission. Some changes remained after restarting, but some defaulted back. How do I go about making all of these changes permanent?

Found this bit of info on the Kodi forums:

Using this method enabled Transmission to work as it did in OE without Docker.
