[RPi4] OSMC Remote Intermittently Forgotten by KODI

  • Is there anything recommended that works out of the box.

Looks like a simple "out of the box" solution doesn't exist for that. I you want to put some work in, try to start from beginning. Remove all devices from USB but the remote's dongle, install the latest 13 nightly to an SD card. Make only the basic settings and try the remote for a while. If working well, try to add back, step by step the USB devices, install addons. If you could find what trigger the issue with the remote, you are a step closer to find a solution.

  • AI <X I assume that was an attempt at humour.

Actually not. It seems like it's a proprietary dongle, so it probably makes no sense to ask AI.

I've seen that it uses 2.4GHz. Is that right? If yes, then you might have some interference with WiFi. So maybe the problem is your new WiFi surrounding, not LE.

Apologies I should have given more details in my initial posting.

The Pi is in a HiFi cabinet but everything in there that has a network capability, consoles PVR etc are all connected via ethernet and have wifi disabled as our router is in the opposite end of the property and the signal is bad in the hifi cabinet area.

OK. I already had cases when WiFi adapters got weaker after some years. So my suggestion is to replace the dongle (after ruling out a PSU issue).
