Did you tried what I wrote a week ago?
I didn't because I was waiting for a new more powerful PSU.
Now it has arrived and hasn't resolved the issue I will look at other recommendations.

Checked out the USB ports on the Pi and the dongle but couldn't see any damage, all contacts looked shiny with no oxidisation.
I'll try swapping the USB items around to see if that solves it.
I haven't but when I power down tonight I'll take a look.
The PSU finally arrived today and I installed it but the remote was not recognised at boot up, I unplugged it as I have previously and counted to ten, now though it took 3 attempts to get it to be recognised so unfortunately the RPi5 PSU didn't resolve the issue.
One thing I did notice though is that some of the buttons on the OSMC remote do work, Back, Play / Pause and Stop.
I tried the lsusb -tv command but unfortunately as you predicted that didn't fix the issue.
I'll try ordering a new OSMC remote and see if that works.
While I'm still waiting for the new PSU to arrive, is there any command I can use on SSH to rescan for the remote rather than unplug & plug in the remotes USB dongle whenever it's not recognised?
OK. I already had cases when WiFi adapters got weaker after some years. So my suggestion is to replace the dongle (after ruling out a PSU issue).
Will do, I've been looking round for some reviews on the Rii Mini i25.
Actually not. It seems like it's a proprietary dongle, so it probably makes no sense to ask AI.
I've seen that it uses 2.4GHz. Is that right? If yes, then you might have some interference with WiFi. So maybe the problem is your new WiFi surrounding, not LE.
Apologies I should have given more details in my initial posting.
The Pi is in a HiFi cabinet but everything in there that has a network capability, consoles PVR etc are all connected via ethernet and have wifi disabled as our router is in the opposite end of the property and the signal is bad in the hifi cabinet area.
Find the chip at the specs, and ask AI for Linux kernel support.
AI
I assume that was an attempt at humour.
I was hoping someone with a remote would recommend it.
If you move the dongle/remote combo between RPi4/NUC systems does the problem follow the move? .. i.e. is it a specific dongle having the problem or all of them?
On the current system; with one of the USB drives moved you can move the dongle from USB2 to USB3 ports. Any change?
I've tried the dongle in different ports and on a short USB extension lead to get it away from any interference from the Pi but we still got the random failure to recognise it.
The new PSU will be delivered some time this week I'll give that a go.
I want to swap back to the SSD for booting anyway as with the MicroSD card the GUI feels much slower to respond.
Dongles can get weaker over the years. Try another one. I don't see a "throttled" warning at your log, so I don't think it's a PSU issue.
Is there anything recommended that works out of the box.
More buttons would be nice to avoid having to go through the keymap editor.
While I wait for the new PSU I backed up the LibreELEC, removed the SSD and booted from a micro SD card, the OSMC didn't work and the dongle had to be removed / re-inserted.
Everything has been running fine for years with the same setup.
We've never had a power issue warning (lightning bolt top right of screen) so maybe the power supply is failing.
I've ordered a Pi5 PSU, fingers crossed that fixes the issue.
Thank you for your advice.
- Are the two USB drives powered from the USB ports on the board or they have external PSU(s)?
Yes both getting power from Pi, one is a WD Passport 1TB, the other is an old SSD I had laying around at the time of setting up the Pi4.
What is 5V/?A spec of the PSU?
It's the official Pi4 PSU.
I was going to get a Pi5 if / when the prices drop a bit. I'll get a Pi5 power supply now to try it out.
DOH!
Sorry Raspberry Pi4
We've used an OSMC remote for many years mostly without issue.
Recently though the remote is not always picked up at power on.
Unplugging the OSMC's USB dongle for a while then re-inserting the dongle makes the remote work again but this is getting annoying.
Anything I can do to diagnose the issue?
When I first start the VOD plugin and select a category it starts showing loading page in a popup for quite a while, is this normal?
We have Amazon Prime so thought I'd give VOD a go on our Pi 4.
Every stream we've tried causes the Pi to lock up shortly into the stream and I have to reset the PI via SSH.
Any help to resolve this greatly appreciated.
Thinking of treating myself to a new Pi5 has anyone used the Argon NEO 5 M.2 NVME PCIE Case?
Any issues I need to be aware of?
