Having given up on getting a Hauppauge WinTV-Nova-S2 (USB version) to work with LibreElec (thread) and following advice here I purchased a Telestar Digibit Twin. I plugged it in, connected up my spare LNB and connected it to an Ethernet port, and it was recognised by my PVR box running LibreElec 11 and TVHeadend 4.3 alpha.
I have not so far been able to get it recognized with the latest LibreElec 12.0.0.1 and TVHeadend 4.3 (on an X86 box, as w old PVR)
For anyone else looking to get this working this was a helpful guide https://chochol.io/en/hardware/tv…-configuration/.
I'm hoping to be able to use the Digibit Twin with additional devices (tablet eg) as long as it's not already in use. Any issues with this I should know?
The manual refers to an EyeTV Sat>IP app available for iOS and Android devices. I can't find it in the Google Play store. Does anyone have a recommendation for an alternative?
Update 17 October
I discovered that the Digibit Twin not showing up via another PC running later version of LE and TVH was nothing to do with the software but down to the device being on another switch with different multicast controls.
So far the device works apart, that is, from
1. My tuner seemingly remaining "allocated" to a network device until the Digibit Twin is reset / powered off/on. I thought this would time out if the client was offline. I'm just going by the tuner LED remaining lit even when the Twin is not in use and being unable to scan for channels with another device without restarting the Digibit. Is this expected?
2. Different scan results: Fewer muxes and fewer services for the same Satellite network (Astra 28.2E), with some (14) remaining forever in the scan queue compared to scanning with a Hauppauge PCI board.
Here's my original PVR scan results (Astra is DVB-S2 via Digibit Twin; Satellite is via Hauppauge PCI board)
and here's the result with the Digibit Twin used with my Pi 3
