Double NTP and "Wait for network" settings in LE 10

  • Hi Guys,

I have got 2 questions regarding LE 10.0.2 (running on a Raspberry Pi 4, if it is relevant):

Both questions apply to settings which seem to be exist twice:

    1. NTP:

Settings -> LibreELEC -> Network -> NTP Servers

    and

Settings -> LibreELEC -> Connections -> Select your connection -> Edit -> NTP Servers

    2. Wait for network

Settings -> LibreELEC -> Network -> Section "Advanced Network Settings" -> "Wait for network before starting Kodi"

    and

Settings -> System -> Power saving -> "Maximum wait time for network"

Why do these settings exist twice and how do they differ?

    Thanks and best regards!

  • 1. First option sets global default NTP servers, and second sets connection specific servers that override the defaults when the connection is the active one. 2. Forces a startup delay in the LE boot process for X seconds; the second (in Kodi settings, not LE) has something to do with power and likely doesn't have any effect on LE since most HTPC devices (RPi4 is a good example) lack power management hardware.
