My Ir-receiver don’t work if starts plugged

I use LE Generic.x86_64 10.0.1, motherboard Asus E35M1-I, and IR remote Philips SRM5100/10

If I start LE with the ir-receiver plugged, it doesn't work.

Seems like an initialization problem of the IR transceiver at boot time. Find the kernel module after hot-plugging the IR transceiver (lsmod), and load it from autostart.sh (modprobe <kernel_module>).

Now autostart.sh run the modules ir_rc6_decoder, rc_rc6_mce and mceusb but the ir-receiver stills no working.

Disable autostart.sh for testing, and run modprobe <kernel_module> manually on SSH terminal. Do you get any errors (make sure you load kernel modules in the right order)? Do you see the IR receiver on lsusb after this?

Good, manual module loading worked. Restart Kodi after this by systemctl restart kodi.

No. Doesn’t work.

I execute the commands manually in that order.

modprobe ir_rc6_decoder

modprobe rc_rc6_mce

modprobe mceusb

systemctl restart kodi

None returns any error but the ir-receiver doesn’t work

I had a short dev conversation about this issue. Dev says, it's fishy that the IR receivers doesn't get a USB number on boot process. So either the device driver is broken, or the device itself.

Try a regular Linux, like Ubuntu, to check whether it works there. If you also have issues on a regular Linux, I suggest to buy a new IR receiver. Don't ask me, which one, because we don't have a whitelist. If it works fine on Ubuntu, then it probably works on LE, too.

but you know that this is a Remote Control designed for the use with a Windows Vista PC ?

What did you expect ? That it works right out of the Box ?

By default, the Remote Control is set up to work with WIN Vista, did you set it up right to use it with LibreElec ?

Did you take a look into the Manual of the Remote Control ?

Instead of bothering with it by editing this and disable/enable that in LibreElec/Kodi why don't you just buy a simple, cheap Remote Control like this:

I've got this Remote Control by myself and it works "right out of the Box" with LibreElec on my PC.

And if you really want to change some Functions of LibreElec/Kodi to other Keys of the Remote Control use the LibreElec Keymap Eidot Add-on.

Could be a USB controller issue, where LE probably uses other drivers than Ubuntu.

if you have USB controller settings on your BIOS, try different settings
try a different USB port
if the above fails, use a USB hub to connect the IR receiver

There is no motivation among LE dev's to fix this, because your motherboard is outdated.

Sorry, I can't say for sure if it works with LibreElec 10.0.1 on a Raspberry Pi4, because

I only own a Pi3 B+ and a PC with an AMD Processor, both running LibreElec 9.2.8.

I had plans to buy a Pi4 and install LibreElec 10.0.1 on it but then I looked around on this Board a saw how much Trouble and Problems People get with this combination.

So I said "NO", and stayed with the Hardware/Software I mentioned above because this works fine for me.

I think the Remote Control should work, but maybe somebody else (chewitt, Da Flex) can answer your Question for sure.
