Is it possible to use OS level user accounts in LibreELEC (and therefore separate profiles)
LibreELEC's OS only knows 1 user... root.
You can set a separate (MySQL) database for every profile user.
The very long term solution would be proper multi-user support within Kodi and its databases,
but I don't see that starting to happen just yet.
in theory with some small script you can just reroute the paths
so
mv /storage/.kodi /storage/.kodi_user_xyz
mv /storage/.kodi_user_abc /storage/.kodi
just exchange the folder before you start kodi, problem here is that you can't select the profiles properly before you start kodi

yea some addon can do it too, not nice and likely not 100% failproof
likely easier to fix the bug at the settings addon that make profiles unusable
