Here the link in the forum with a basic discussion about how to compile the addon

The makemkv addon was already in times of openelec generated. In the makemkv forum there is a howto posted.

Escalade, 5Schatten and several others built it already for Krypton and older Leia Releases of Libreelec. Unfortunately this addons are not working with the newer releases anymore.

Makemkv for arm based devices is available.

Hi MakaaiD,

Basically, the problem with the M8S is that it has been made by a lot of Chinese manufacturers and there are at least 20 variants or more of it.

They are basically the same but come with a different WiFi chip, a differently written bootloader, and multiple remote controls.

My M8S (in which I just replaced a 5V1 zener diode because I smoked up it with a 12V power supply) is an n200C version.

The copy made by Eny is a stock n200 and I would need that now. Somehow we should find out what yours is like.

You should try my M8S+ version on an SD card. If it works without error (except for the remote control), it will not be of an Eny type.

Hi dtech,

I tried your M8S+ version, everything works except for Remote & Bluetooth.

All H264 videos works. H265 video 1080p some works but higher vibrate do not.

Did not tried any plugins.

The S812 SoC doesn't support 10-bit (HDR) from H265, only just 8-bit supported.

Can I get a dmesg log?

If that doesn't work either, you have a clone box with only S802 SoC.

This is the same file I sent.

I quickly downloaded the other two files you opened according to the log. With my M8S, I got these results over Ethernet (via Samba):

- Elecard_about_Tomsk_part3_HEVC_UHD.mp4 -> It works over Ethernet, no buffering issue.
- TCL Supercars 4K Demo.mp4 -> 100 Mbps Ethernet is not enough for this bitrate, always buffering.

This plays without buffering or frameskip from a USB key.

Hey guys! Just after reading your thread and going to ask a question Is s905D powerfull enough to run Tvheadend, and play sat channels without problems on same device with internal build in tuner ?

Looking for to replace my old samsung TV where I'm runing oscam after rooting

Definitely rather kodi way to play my tv channels!

Unfortunately, I only use it with DVB-C, so I don’t know how suitable it is for satellite reception. Theoretically, this should not be a problem.

But maybe someone will confirm who also uses it for satellite reception.

Okay, but then what is the problem? You wrote earlier that it doesn't work with all files, and I'm curious about those files.

Not with the videos that work, because I have nothing to do with them.
