How can i start LibreELEC with the same resolution/fps every time?

Hi,

i have a 4k-tv but i don't use it when watching videos with my htpc - the hardware is top weak. sometimes the resolution is 4096x2160 or 3840x2160. This is annoying because i can't navigate kodi without stuttering. Maybe this is because sometimes i start the htpc before my tv and sometimes the tv is already running when the htpc starts. But its not a solution to power off the tv before power on the htpc only because libreelec/kodi can't save the resolution settings.

How can i do this? How can i save this settings so that every time i have the same resolution and the same framerate?

Hello!

If you Set the resolution, and do a Restart so the setting is saved correctly, it should Work. It works for ne since years.

AFAIK the KODi skins are all 1080 max. So you should Set 1080 as your Resolution for the Menu and enable Resolution switching at Video start/Stop your TV should upscale the KODi GUI surface. This should Work at least If you start the First video.

I know, but most textures and fanart Look aweful If 4k resolution is used.

I know my thread is old but i had no look with a custom edid. When i start my TV first and then the HTPC the HTPC is running with 4k resolution. I want 2k because the reactions of the kodi gui are very slow. Using a custom edid doesn't change the situation. With the custom edid the system is still running with 4k.

Is there a way to manually edit the edid to force 2k resolution?

Add "video=HDMI-A-1:1920x1080M@60" to kernel boot params and reboot, it should force the defaults to 1080p@60.
