    1 Chieftec case with working leds for HDD and power and working power button

    1 RF remote Gyration gyr3101eu

    1 Raspberry PI4

    1 HDD 4To 2.5" + SATA to USB 3.0 adapter

    1 Fan for HDD

    1 Fan for CPU

    1 Heat sink for CPU

    1 Custom I/O shield (back panel)

    Cables for USB-C, USB2.0 Network and HDMI for the rear panel

    And a lot of time to make it hahaha !

  • I have the same project in mind

    I wanna build a big htpc with my Rock Pi 4b which is going to have at least 4 hdds. I do know that I will have to use an external PSU which is fine. I might use a PC PSU but first I have to check if I wlll be able to manage the power of the PSU using the gpio of my sbc.

  • Im using the same case but with a J3160 motherboard, 60GB SSD, 8GB RAM, OSMC Remote, a slow 80 mm fan and LibreELEC.:thumbup:

  • Hi, any tutorial or a shopping cart? I´m thinking to do something like your project.

    You can find all items in Amazon,

    - The case is HTPC format, there is plenty of it. (don't forget to make a drawing with all dimensions (H x W x D)

    - Cables are mal/femal small lenght cables for USB3.0, USB2.0, USB-C, HDMI, RJ45

    - Fans are 5cm x 5cm x 1cm or 4cm x 4cm x 1cm in 5 Volt

    - HDD is 2.5" + sata to USB3.0 adapter like Inateck Adapter USB3.0 to SATA (with power supply included in option)

    - Micro SD card SDXC

    - RF remote plugged to USB2.0

    - Some 330ohm resistors and mal/femal wires for case leds and

    - Soldering iron, some screws from old computer, pin headers

    - Efforts and times to build


    No tutorial as it is quite easy.

    The only difficult part is to screw RPI4 in the case and to cut and drill a metal plate for the rear side and for the bottom side.


    Don't forget to make drawing before building, dimensions are very important if you want to include RPI4 with 1 or 2 HDDs inside the case

    And a drawing for the GPIO for fans and leds and power button.
