Hi SMP,

I like to thank you for this HDR build but I run into some issues with this particular build.

Here is my setup, NUC7PJYH --> Sony STR-DH590 <--> TCL 75S434

1. The Wifi setting is not working, when I tried to connect to a WIFI signal, virtual keyboard box will not show up for me to input Wireless network passphrase.

2. Video resolution issue. When I connect my NUC to Receiver than to TV the resolution became very weird when I play 4K HDR Content.

Instead of staying at 3840 x 2160 pixels (4K UHD) which the original 4K content resolution was,

It makes my receiver to output 4096 x 2160 pixels (DCI 4K) to TV.

The TV screen was unwatchable like TV was broken and image chopped in half.

KODI was set at 3840x2160 resolution.

I turn on "Adjust Display Refresh Rate" setting in KODI to find out the playing back resolution had been pumped out as 4096 x 2160 and made it watchable by doing that.

With same setup, I used LibreELEC-Generic.x86_64-9.2.6.img.gz to test out same 4K HDR file, it runs fine without any issue. No HDR lol.

If I connect my NUC directly to TV, than it works fine, but I loose DTS TrueHD etcs.

My Sony STR-DH590 might play a role in this issue but it was never an issue with Stable Build.

I love how the HDR works but not be able to use Wifi and I have to set KODI resolution at 4096 x 2160 pixels, thanks but I will stay with stable version at the moment.

That was a service.libreelec.settings issue, I believe it's already fixed. I'll post an updated build at some point.

I doubt it's a Kodi/LE issue. Probably some sort of HDMI compatibility thing specific to Gemini Lake + your AVR combo.

I still find it admirable that folks are persisting with these technically dead Intel platforms when there are fully functional ARM alternatives available, waiting for working HDR on x64 is like waiting for this pandemic to end.

I guess the benefit of Intel in speed terms is worthwhile - I switched to AMLogic platforms as my main daily driver and miss the snappiness of my Intel boxes. That said - the Apple TV 4K SoC is a beast - it software decodes stuff that the other ARM platforms just choke on (38Mbs 1080i25 4:2:2 h.264 with deinterlacing is do-able on an ATV 4K in software)

and what about picture quality ? almost two years ago picture quality (scaling , deinterlace etc ) was better on x86 than Android for example due to surface render for example

..i don't know if something is changed in the meantime

The newest Tiger Lake laptop supports 10-bit HDR output via the Thunderbolt 4 port, I've verified that.

I compiled another image for Gemini Lake hardware.

Updated to a current Kodi and LE master. HDR commits from here.

I fixed the url.

You mean how I merged? I made a patch from the below commits and applied it to current master. Required some tinkering as they don't apply cleanly anymore.

^ you will have to manually adjust those for the current Kodi master.

Also you will have to revert CDRMObject: remove unused SupportsPropertyAndValue method · xbmc/xbmc@b29310d · GitHub or otherwise Kodi will not build.

Thank you SMP for updated version but WiFi connection still not working. ( Didn't have the chance to test 4K playback yet!)

When I select correct WiFi node that I like to connect and hit connect, Kodi just restart it self with no WiFi connect at all.

Wi-Fi works fine here with RTL8821CU adapter.

I don't have any USB WiFI Adapter to try with.

I use NUC7PJYH build in WiFi module.(Intel® Wireless-AC 9462 + Bluetooth 5.0)

Which unfortunately doesn't work with your HDR build.

i hear rumors that Panther lake nuc will have native HDMI ports instead if LSPCON. lets hope the gemni lake patches does not need much more work for Panther Lake!
