[Solved] Putty: Connection Refused

Hello everyone, I have recently joined the community. I'm trying to set up a lightberry config in my TV.

I have a raspberry 3b+ and LibreELEC v.8.2.5, but there is no way I can't connect remotely using Putty, I always get Connection Refused.

I looked over some other posts related to this but none of the solutions provided worked for me.

- PC and raspberry are both connected by wifi. Dinamic IPs. Raspberry IP is known and I can see it in LibreELEC. I can succesfully ping the RSPB IP.

- SSH is enabled in LibreELEC. (Also tried disabling and enabling, rebooting,)

- Tried placing an ssh empty file in SD card root. Didn't work

- Restarted SSH service in my laptop. Didn't work

- Also tried using the native SSH server in Windows 10 but also get connection refused.

Please if anyone can help me,

Trying ssh root@<RPI3 <IP> I get "system cannot find specified file"

I also tried ssh root@RPI3 <IP> and I get "system could not resolve hostname RPI3: Host unkown"

Is "RPI3" my hostname?

Trying "ssh 192.168.1.58" i get "connect to host 192.168.1.58 port 22: connection refused

Is there any way to check if my Raspb is using port 22 or another?

I installed network tools, but seems this command doesn't work

"nmap" is not recognized as an internal or external command, program or file executable

Yes I installed Network tools and rebooted.. but seems doesn't work.. I guess this command is also entered in windows command prompt, right? As a local IP address I need to put RSPB IP right? Or laptop IP?

I will also check to forward port 22 in my router

Is there any thing related to RSPB IP being dinamic? Is it better to have it static?

I set static IP on RSPB and opened 22 port in my router. But anyway I always get connection refused..

I saw there are some ssh config files when I put the SD card in the laptop. Is there some config to be checked?

It's important that you are a "root" user if you try to connect. If you are not "root", then SSH will refuse the connection, because only "root" is defined for login by default. I had the same "issue" .

Thanks, I tried a clean installation formatting SD card, but again I get Connection Refused.. Can't understand.. :_(

Laptop and Rpi are both connected by wifi to my router, both with static IP

Rpi 192.168.1.58

Laptop 192.168.1.52

I can successfully ping rpi from the laptop

I tried Wireshark and capture when I try ssh [email protected] (Rpi)

Seems it does not recognize my laptop? Don't know how to interpret this commands, see screenshot attached
