Driver for Terratec S7 rev.4?

  • Hi!

I am new here, i have a RaspberryPi 2 with Tvheadend running and buyed a TerraTec S7 rev.4 (newest)

now i wanted to install the Driver but i seems that the linux driver page is down (linux.terratec.com)

On linuxtv its not listed at all https://www.linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/terratec_s7 (only 1,2 and 3)

What i found out that it seems the hardware of the rev.4 is totally different as on the older revisions?

I think its from dvbsky, because terratec is only a reseller.

Is it even supported by linux?

dmesg | grep dvb does not find anything

but dmesg | grep TERRATEC shows me:

    Code
    [ 2.153267] usb 1-1.4: Product: TERRATEC S2 CI USB
    [ 2.153277] usb 1-1.4: Manufacturer: TERRATEC

    and full output of dmesg:

Seems that is not recognized right, what should i do?

    Tested on WIN7, worked perfectly...

I hope anyone can help me, because otherwise I will return it...

    Thanks for your help!

    regards,

    Daniel

  • Idk why you need CI (an usb CI reader might be enough) but basically every usb device has the same problem :(

It looks like starting 2018 the old M88DS3103 wasn't available anymore and just the M88DS3103b was manufactured -> every device with M88DS3103 might be problematic due that :/

https://www.amazon.de/dp/b01m00x69z/ + an USB CI might do the trick (HD+ I guess ?) depending if the S960 is the old or the new model - nobody knows till you tried it ;D

  • Ok i saw a review form the 24. April 2018 and he says he has it running without problems on raspian/tvheadend (thats exactly what i want)

with the Rev.2, so i think it should work so the only question is how to get CI working? (need it for the ORF programs in Austria)

What CI reader does work with raspbian/tvheadend?

    thanks
