LibreELEC-RR 9.x [ Emulationstation | Retroarch | Pegasus | DolphinQT | Moonlight | Chrome | Spotify ]

  • 5schatten i just received my new odroid H2 (J4105 gemini lake)

And only tested dolphin mario kart wii and super mario bros 3+ with native resolution and it’s unplayable.

I think the cpu/gpu is too weak?

Use Vulkan, configure Ubershaders, set the correct refresh rate in rr-config before and stick to the native Wii resolution.
I can play New Super Mario Bros. Wii on my J3455-ITX so it should run fine if you set it up correct.

Yeah i already use vulkan and asynchronous ubershaders..

I will check if there other settings for ubershaders.

    Thanks

  • Sorry to be the "requester" guy but in your next builds could be possible to include the screen utility? Would be useful when scraping with Skyscraper because now if the ssh connection drops the scraping stops.

  • Really, that's sh!t. Maybe you can use your mobile (4G) to upload ?

(Or learn me some stuff(docker) and i compile and upload for you(250/25Mbit))

Well 4G would be suitable but sacrificing pricy data volume for uploads is rather not that clever :D It's not a big deal to upload this stuff over night but for obvious reasons I takes so time. Probably should be solved next month because the "Super Vectoring" should be up and running and at least 50/10 or 100/40 Mbit should be working.

  • 5schatten can you please add the steam client to your build?

There is one, that works with OSMC.. Or can I install it as an addon?

    tl:dr no.

The steam client needs 32bit libs & is proprietary so it's not possible to add it to LE. OSMC is just a multimedia debian and nothing more. Also I guess the RPi builds are linked against X11 so it won't work anyway. You could however ask escalade for further details about his Steam Docker image which might is a suitable workaround.

Well how often does you SSH connection drop? :/

  • Lisko

Screen is available as an addon. You can also run your scraper in the background like this:

    # scraper -foo -bar > /tmp/scraper.log 2>&1 &

    5schatten

I haven't done anything else since with Steam other than the initial testing so don't know if the image still works.

Proton could be interesting too since it comes with Wine for non native games :/

  • Is there a way to manage audio volume for emulationstation/dolphin/mupen64plus? I tried different setups, but with no success.

    1. Kodi uses alsa

    2. Backend in RRconfig set to alsa - the emulationstation/dolphin/mupen64plus volume is very very high.

    3. Backend in RRconfig set to pulse and adjust the volume to 25% - this works, but when you go back to kodi the volume is very very low - so checking it in alsamixer through ssh it shows the master volume changed to 25%. Have to ssh every time I use a game to roll the volume level back to 100%.

    4. I tried to change the audio levels in dolphin configuration but it has no effect on the audio volume.

    5. If I use alsa the audio of video preview of emulationstation doesn't work. With pulse it works.

    6. In kodi I cannot select pulse because the only audio device I see on pulse driver is "bluetooth".

    7. I cannot find a way to change the volume during execution of emulationstation, nor dolphin, nor mupen64plus.

Is it a bug that setting the volume in pulse sets it even in alsa or is it correct?

    Thank you

Setup: intel nuc core i5 - ssd 128GB - 6GB RAM - intel integrated graphics - logitech k400r wireless keyboard ita layout + touchpad - 2 gamesir g3s - 1 dolphin bar + 1 nintendo wiimote plus + nunchuck - generic USB IR remote control - stereo speakers connected to analog out - LibreElec 9.x RR 0404 release.

P.S.: The keyboard stuff introduced in 0326 release didn't fix the keyboard layout/mapping issue.

  • Again not a single log file is provided. Enter this in a terminal setxkbmap -query |paste & post the link. I added libxkbcommon which Lakka also uses and updated all keyboard config & mapping files. Personally I don't see what else could be changed.

I hardly doubt that my script can change the ALSA volume because it reduce the volume of a temporary Pulse Audio sink

And once you return to Kodi it sets the volume of the sink back to 100% before it's unloaded.

So all in all the sink is created for the time the emulators or frontends are used and once you shut them down it sets the default volume and unloads it. So run this command in a terminal beforeamixer | paste you start a frontend and run it again while the emulation is running and once you return to Kodi. And post all links in the correct order.

The FAQ clearly states that audio for video previews is only available with PA and it also states that changing the audio configs in the emulators will probably screw the config at all so I don't see what might be "unexpected" ://shrug

  • Thank you 5schatten

    Here are the info.

    setxkbmap -query | paste - http://ix.io/1fge

    amixer | paste

    in kodi: http://ix.io/1fgc

    es launched: http://ix.io/1fgd

    game dolphin launched: http://ix.io/1fgd

dolphin and es closed, back to kodi: http://ix.io/1fgd

rolled back volume to 100% with alsamixer (in alsamixer I find master volume to 18%, not 25% like RRconfig setting, not 44% like amixer pastebin says)

    in kodi: http://ix.io/1fgc

    es launched: http://ix.io/1fgd

es closed, back to kodi: http://ix.io/1fgd

rolled back volume to 100% with alsamixer

    in kodi: http://ix.io/1fgc

    pegasus launched: http://ix.io/1fgd

pegasus closed, back to kodi: http://ix.io/1fgd

I saw the it,us keyboard layout, but in libreelec configuration i cannot remove the second layout... so I changed the second to it too, but even after reboot it and verifying "setxkbmap -query | paste" - http://ix.io/1fgx the keyboard mapping is the same in retroarch (if I press the + button it recognize "rightbracket", if I press - button it recognize "slash" - in the + button I have the rightbracket corresponding to the AltGr combination, but in the - button I only have the _ )

    Libreelec log file: log-2019-04-08-19.49.48.zip

Another test: if I leave the master volume to 18% in alsamixer and reboot the system, the alsa master volume rolls back to 100%.

  • Hi, in topic of keyboards, after an incident some years ago I got several problems to my hands. In the current situation I am way more comfortable typing on my phone than on a keyboard. For my others Linux pcs I use unified remote android app and it works fine. I got the server running on libreelec and with it I can use the mouse fine. The keyboard is almost working but it has an issue: while all the keys seems fine (eg I can type and send alt+esc to exit emulators) but if I try special chars like "@" it completely ignores them. This is a major issue in Chrome and spotify since there isn't an OSK and I can't even login. Do you know an alternative working app for remote keyboard and mouse? Can I help providing some logs? Which one do you need? Thanks for the patience.
