Where exactly did you find the info? Open the case and check the CPU name. Do you have photos of the PCB?

Im considering just bying another one of my X96 S905 boxes, since it works fine.
I doubt the bootloader is locked on this device preventing LE booting.
These devices come in 2GB & 3GB RAM variants, so the device trees to use would be:

I have a reboot related question. I have a X96 s905x box and it reboots fine into Libreelec without any issue. However, I recall when I installed LE originally, I never used any of the special methods to reboot the box e.g. toothpick. I simply made a bootable SD card with Rufus, inserted and powered the box on. Did I get all wrong? I am thinking booting with a special method is required step. Please educate me. I hope I am not hijacking the thread.
It all depends on how the original vendor bootloader has been built and configured. It it checks the SD card first, no tricks are required. If it only checks when recovery mode is invoked, then tricks are necessary.
