Why do you need this? You already have Spotify Connect Web.

This looks interesting!
Two options to add this to LibreELEC:
1. create a repository
2. submit the package to LE
At the moment, according to the documentation, the addon is still under development. Option 1 is therefore more appropriate.
I will have a look at it, and see if I can help. It might take some time though.
Cheers

Perhaps this addon does not require the appkey? Or what is the aim and benefit of this new addon? I am also interested in the motivation of this.
In the long term it would be interesting to have spotify integrated in LibreELECs/Kodis music interface, so that you can see the current track title and so on on your TV or connected GPIO LCD.

You don't need the appkey. It's working very well on OSMC, but I couldn't get it to work on LibreELEC.
Cool! That sounds like a very promising solution Hope this will be included in some addon for libreELEC.
Great news:
There is currently somebody working on a spotify connect frontend in Kodi, which could make this Connect Web addon here controlable in LibreELEC: [WIP] [Alpha release] ConnectControl for Spotify - Addon Development - Kodinerds.net - Deutschsprachiges Forum zum Kodi Entertainment Center
If both would be combined someday, spotify connect could become fully integrated into kodi as a music addon

Hey LordDorian! Great thing, man
Funny thing is that somebody else is working on the same at the same time as you are: [WIP] ConnectControl for Spotify
Perhaps you could benefit from each other during this early stage! Really glad to see that the community is putting some effort in Spotify for Kodi finally
For those who are interested, I have created a Librespot addon for LibreELEC, which does not require an appkey and runs on Generic in addition to RPi2.
Please discuss it in its dedicated thread.
Enjoy!

Finally, after the forum is online again, I've tried your addon. This is not supposed to work with awiouy s new librespot addon, that he released last week, is it? Would be great so see a solution which would be compatible with the promising librespot approach :). But still great work man
Hello chunki!
The addon should be in the LibreELEC Add-ons repository, in section Services.
You might have to update the repository. Please report if you still can not find it.
Hi awiouy I was so glad when I found this addon as it's the only one working in Libreelec for me, in two RPI3s I have at home. But on installing on a RPI2 that I had laying around I cannot see it in Libreelec's repository (it does appear in the RPI3s). I'm using in all of them Libreelec 8.x.. Maybe it's because of the RPI2 hardware? Can I download manually somewhere? Thanks a lot!!

Oh and by the way I tried this new addon that does not require the appkey but it won't work in Libreelec in the RPI2 at least; it will reboot the machine when trying to run the wizard.
awiouy, update: well, I was able to install the Spotify Web Connect 0.0.3 addon (I extracted it from my RPI3 where it's working) in the RPI2 installation.
Thing is, it keeps rebooting when I try the wizard. I checked and ALSA seems not to be enabled (aplay -l will render "no soundcards", unlike the RPI3s).
I also updated the kernel in the RPI2. The only difference I can see now is that I'm running libreelec via NOOBS in the RPI2.. I added "dtparm=audio=on" in the boot config in the NOOBS Console, but to no avail.. Any ideas? Thanks!
Nevermind awiouy - a shameful mistake! I didn't have an RPI2 board.. It was a RPI 1 B+ instead. Checking back, I see you say this will only work in RPI2 or 3. Sad, well I'll have to find another way or upgrade to a RPI3. Thanks for your hard work and patience!
I remember there was an issue with overlays with older versions of NOOBS, which has been fixed.
You therefore could try to install a current version of NOOBS, or ditectly install LibreELEC.

Hi awiouy indeed the whole problem was that I thought I had an RPI2 and it was an RPI B+.
So, when I tried installing LibreElec I tried to install the WRONG RPI2/3 image.. and Noobs instead would download the correct version, that's why it did work with NOOBS.
The sad part is that your great addon won't work below RPI2, right? So basically it's a no go! I'll have to look for an alternative (it works fine in the RPI3s I have). Thanks!
anyone knows how long does it take to get the spotify_appkey.key?

This takes some time.
In the meantime, you could give librespot a go.
