Hi,
Whilst trying to get samba to work properly I noticed that I can't SSH into my LibreELEC box! I've tried switching it off and then re-enabling it in settings but still get this error when trying in terminal on my Mac:
ssh: connect to host 10.19.64.3 port 22: Connection refused
Any ideas?

that seems like an odd IP address.... Are you sure that isn't self assigned?
Can you post the output of ssh -vvv root@<IP of LE Box>
Also try connecting from to your local machine "ssh localhost" and see if that works.
Also it would help if you could give details of the host and remote machines (HW, SW Versions)

I think it is clear that ssh server is not running.
Yep and it's definitely enabled in the GUI!
Try adding ssh to bootloader parameters then.

Do you need to enable remote logon on your Mac?
Do have a firewall or antivirus running. See Here
Which version of LE are you on? 8.2? I guess you have tried a reboot with ssh set in the gui.
Can you also try a sftp connection.

I can connect to my Ubuntu machine and to my router from my Mac, no I don't have a firewall or anti-virus running on it.
I'm running 8.2, ssh worked fine in 8.0.2. No sftp doesn't work either.

Not sure if my problem was the same, but i had the same connection refused problems as updating from 8.0 to 8.2. somehow putty/kitty had something cached that prevented an connection. I was still able to connect from smartphone etc to ssh. After nuking my putty profile it worked again.
Hi thanks for that, on a mac you get a rsa-key error if that is causing the problem! I've also tried connecting from my iPad and get the same error as from my Mac or Ubuntu machine.

remove any matching entries from ~/.ssh/known_hosts and retry
Ok so I installed system tools and that gave me a terminal! It seems that the permissions had changed on the storage folder to 0777! So I reset them as per Chewitt’s post in the thread that Iridium linked to. It now works again, ssh and sftp functionality restored!

Glad you got it working - why it got to that state is another question.
Yep it’s a weird one that! The whole storage folder seems to be set to 0777! Is there somewhere I can find the correct settings for the different folders?
