A VPN is not an absolute necessary tool for Kodi or LibreELEC to function properly.

    As per Kodi's VPN policy:

    Quote

4 Why does Kodi need a VPN?

    In short, it doesn't.

The use of a VPN to defeat geo-locking of a source (limitation of access to the IP address range of the local country of the source) is not something Team Kodi supports on this forum, as such support is not a basic function of Kodi. Further, using a VPN to try and hide access to known illegal sources (pirated media torrents most commonly, or those blocked by ISPs under coourt order) violates the piracy policy.

And as a final reminder: this is not a Windows 10 forum.

    1) There is the addons folder, the addons_data folder and the AddonsXX.db database fil (whatever XX version is current). But Windows versions of addons can be different to whatever hardware you are now using.

    2) 1080p60 is default because using 30hz on a 4K (lots of TVs) might become sluggish. Also, you've not provided a single LibreELEC hardware detail.

    3) Eh... Windows is not Linux. Especially not a plain vanilla Linux build with only the bare essentials. Other than that, I'm not a 'remote' guru. Others will have to join in for that.

BUT the problem is the video is TOO SLOW and keeps stopping every few seconds for buffering,

I don't think the "video is too slow", but you can check the Player Process Info if hardware video acceleration is applied.

It may be that the whole Wifi chip is less well supported in LibreELEC/Linux, and that data throughput is less than with Windows.

Differences in hardware support among operating systems is not uncommon.

Please provide a full debug log.

How to post a log (wiki)

    1. Enable debugging in Settings>System Settings>Logging
    2. Restart Kodi
    3. Replicate the problem
    4. Generate a log URL (do not post/upload logs to the forum)

use "Settings > LibreELEC > System > Paste system logs" or run "pastekodi" over SSH, then post the URL link

Apart from the Netflix addon, you apparently also installed several, what Kodi refers to as, banned add-ons. Repositories and add-ons that facilitate video piracy.

As per our and Kodi forum rules, support will halt right here. You can either provide a clean kodi.log of your system, or find your support elsewhere.

As your topic title already confirms, you're not the only one with this problem. For some reason, Bluetooth has its quirks and the adapter will randomly disappear. It's not just game pads, it's also doing the same to BT speakers and headphones. If you have a hardwired network connection, you may as well disable the wifi. It seems to lessen the burden a bit on the wireless comm-chip on the RPi.

AFAICT, we simply haven't found the magic fix yet. It could be something LibreELEC, it could be something Linux. Sorry.

Apparently our forum rules were not fully clear to you. Let me reiterate those rules that are most applicable at the moment:

    Piracy Policy

    • Discussions regarding the piracy or theft of copyrighted materials will not be tolerated
    • Forum staff and users will refuse support to other users who have piracy add-ons installed
    • LibreELEC references the Kodi team list of piracy repositories and add-ons

So, you can either come back to use with a fully clean setup of Kodi if the stutter problem is still present, or you can find your support elsewhere. Presumably at the location that you downloaded your add-ons from. For now, support to you simply stops right here.

If you have rescraped the movie/music collection, you may have now a database with both old and new sets of data. Not ideal, but the database itself shouldn't have a problem with it. You will have thumbnails with the old and new dataset now.

You could do a Clean Library action via the Media / Library / Music section towards the music database, but the old thumbnails will not be removed automatically.

I think it's pretty simple: your USB flash drive(s) get a different mount device number (drive letter in Windows) from the Linux OS than your Samsung 860EVO 500GB SSD does. And basically ANY deviation in the path to your source files stored in the Kodi video or music libraries will result in a "File not found" situation. Kodi still lists your files via the database library, but the physical file location has changed.

Does anyone know if you can install ******** in this version?

Apparently someone hasn't read our forum rules very well during the forum registration. Any repository or add-on that is on Kodi's banned add-on list (or shows similar behavior such as facilitating video piracy) will instantly result in halting our support here.

You're kindly requested to you get your support from wherever you downloaded that bunch of crap.
