Apologies for that.

I have now worked out what was happening. As I am using a graphics card in my build the installer seems to default to to the output of the motherboard HDMI socket, and therefore when I plugged my cable into there I was able to continue with the installation. Once the install completed I could swap the cable back to the graphics card and it worked as expected.

I have created a USB installer and it boots just fine using the "Live" option but if I simply leave it, or type "run" or "installer" I just get a black screen.

What am I doing wrong?

I've just built this with a windows set up in mind but it's already getting on my nerves

Intel Core i5 7600

Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 Ti 8GB

8GB DDR5 Ram.

I want it to play 4k video faultlessly. Switch Colourspace accurately and output HDR when required.

I also want Netflix 4k to work.

Will Libreelec do this for me?

I'm struggling getting the Netflix Add-On working on my Minix UH-9 with CoreELEC. Is it worth trying to update with LibreELEC-S905.arm-18.0_20180522.tar?

That network test seems to check out fine.

Try extracting the largest file from the stream folder of the ISO and playing that instead.

I don't know what it means to use SMB shares with credentials!

Now you've put doubt in my mind again!

As windows doesn't support NFS natively I guess SMB is the way to go.

I knew I had changed to NFS for a reason those years ago. I wasn't aware of the update that addressed the issues until now. I'll change back to SMB tonight.

Thanks guys. I'll give SMB shares another go, however everything is now working well since I resolved my gigabit ethernet problem.

Yes. Very happy it was an easy fix. I had envisaged having to try and replace all my cat5e cables for cat6!

I can only assume that the cable wasn't quite seated correctly in the switch or may have been dirty and that taking it out and putting it back in must have resolved it.

Essentially I am sharing the root of all but the boot drive on the server.

Well, I tried another file called storage-i.mount

But that doesn't work either. I assume I'm doing something wrong but I can't see it!
