For dvd's you can create an image of the complete disk, using makemkv, that will give you the extras
If you don't want extras, but just the main movie, I would use mkvtoolnix, you can then select the vob files to give you just the movie, as an mkv
mkvtoolnix can also join, both mkv's to one movie.
What I did from memory is,
add videos, add smb network, with nas ip address, user name & password.

My advice would be head over to CoreElec Forums
Install an image to a MicroSD or usb
At least you should get Kodi/Libreelec/CoreElec working
How can I make remote control work (Libreelec 188.8.131.52 on a pendrive)? The remote.conf from android was saved successfully to the Le Config directory.
I posted this issue on several forums as well, no answer so far.
Try reading allmof this thread remote.conf repository
I think the best thing for you is to go to the Coreelec website, CoreELEC Forums these are newer versions of kodi than the links already given.
Very basically, You download the correct image for your device, use rufus Rufus to burn the image to a microsd or usb.
I think now on coreelec chosing your device from the list should mean you don't need to change the device tree CoreELEC
You then insert the card/usb, boot your device, you will need a usb keyboard to gothrough the initial setup, ie network connections.
Then reboot, your remote might not work, I'm not sure but there are guides to help you setup the remote, & guides for the installation.
So, go to the coreelec forum.
