I've never opened the hood of LE to see what's inside. Exactly how do I run "dmesg | paste" ?
Have you ever run an SSH session in LE. Read the wiki https://wiki.libreelec.tv/support/update

Display MoreOnly DVBT and what is available over internet connection .... based in Central Europe
... just install TVHeadend HTSP Client on LE 10.0.4 ...
Event log: Connecting to backend... server is unreachable
I will try to install on LE 11.0.3 ... did it but, unfortunately, no channels
Anyhow thanks a lot for suggestion.
Thanks for your time and effort.
What type/brand of DVBT tuner are you using.
Ok. You don’t mention if it’s DVBS or DVBT or what region you are based in. That information would help greatly to solve your problem. Have you tried TVHeadend.
See here reference to test version until a release is made https://github.com/anxdpanic/plugin.video.youtube/issues/509
Looks like it’s back on the merry go round with this add on until a more permanent solution is found.
Looks like the Kodi forum is down at the moment.
What is the source of your TV channels. Is it DVB or some IPTV playlist.
Upgrade to LE 11.0.3

What version of the YouTube add on are you using. Make sure you have the latest installed.
LibreELEC is $free open-source software not a PRODUCT from a company, and no user from any timezone has a right to instant or rapid support from the unpaid volunteers who give up their free time to work on the distro and staff this forum.
I do enjoy the odd post from the narcissist community who eventually will inform you that you are not worthy of their input. Maybe these narcissists should band together and establish their own forum. Now that would be entertaining to see. Imagine trying to get agreement on a project’s direction. My way or the highway.
I don't have access to a 2nd laptop to put Linux on but I do have a 2nd card reader, tried that and still no joy.
The only Linux based computer I have is a pocket PC, I put Gparted on that and tried a few things but still no joy.
Unless anything else can be suggested I'll call it quits and order a couple more cards.
As before what size / speed / brand would people recommend for LibreELEC and a some emulation stuff?
Personally and for obvious reasons I wouldn’t recommend any brand. What I do use is Sandisk Class 10 16gb. Always felt the fakers targeted the higher capacity cards. So far no problems. I literally just use it for the OS. External storage for everything else.
Get yourself an old laptop/notebook and install Linux on it. You’ll be able to thoroughly check your SD cards and even in some cases bring them back to life with this software https://fight-flash-fraud.readthedocs.io/en/latest/
Before buying new cards though use an alternative card reader to check their integrity. I’ve seen card readers go bad causing intermittent failures on otherwise good cards.
Windows 10
I'm happy to try Linux if you can point me to an image I can boot from USB.
Unless you are familiar with Linux try finding a machine with Linux installed to format your SD cards. A lot simpler.
Display MoreThis is getting frustrating, I cannot get either of my SD cards to format.
I've checked and each SD has had a version of LibreELEC on it with a 512mb partition and a 29.51GB partition.
I've tried:
Raspberry Pi Imager 1.7.5
BalenaEtcher Portable 1.18.11
None could write the LibreELEC image.
SD Card Formatter 5.0.2 Cannot format either card.
Are you formatting these cards in Linux.
Cool - thanks!
The "community build"? Is that different from the standard build available via the official download page? If so, where can I find it?
You’ll find it in the Community section of the forum. RE: Unofficial LE for RK356x RK3328\RK3399 3288\3188
it was my choice to go directly to telestar, i choose them because i know amazon would just dump the device.
Indeed but now others looking in here are aware that there are now three different revisions of the Twin, something that the manufacturer has omitted to mention on their website. What you originally purchased would appear to be what everyone else would be supplied with if they purchased the Twin now.
maybe they are in the process of rolling v3 out and i got lucky?
I sent you some PM.
Firmware Version: 0.1.3 Build Date: 02/21/2023 14:58:23
The problem here is their agents are selling stock that is clearly not fit for purpose as you have already experienced.
Worse again, you made a purchase via Amazon yet Amazon directed you to the manufacturer instead of dealing directly with the problem. You incurred the expense of having to return the Twin to Telestar directly. Definitely not satisfactory.
I’m not sure where you are based or what Amazon region you purchased from but what I do know is prospective purchasers rely on information regarding product versions available before making an informed purchasing decision.
I was doing a little further research on this and it appears you are not the only person to experience this problem. The manufacturer and his agents should make it very clear what they are selling. If there are in fact three different versions of the Twin available this should be made very clear.
I have a feeling the manufacturer dumped all the older versions onto the market maybe via a 3rd party who are in turn selling them on to unsuspecting customers.
The fact that my unit currently works does not mean it will be working in two months time. I’ve also been recommending them to other prospective buyers but in light of this information I will no longer be recommending them until the manufacturer states their current position very clearly on their website.
looks more or less the same, i bought the first one at amazon, but did the exchange directly with telestar, they sent me the new device after i sent them the old one.
It’s getting more bizarre. Telestar make no mention of a Rev 3 version of the Twin on their website. They do however mention a Telestar Twin and a Telestar Twin Version 2. There’s a distinct difference between both versions, one is in a blue casing, the other is in a silver casing.
Could you confirm the firmware build of the model you have. You’ll find that information on the bottom of the Configuration screen on the Twin. Mine shows v1.0.8 05/11/20 and on the box it states Rev 2.
I want to take this matter up with the manufacturer and the more information I have the better. Could you also confirm what price you paid for the Twin.
it has a new chipset and says rev3 on the box, I only noticed because I tried to update the firmware and it didn’t work, my firmware is 0.x and from February.
Physically does it look the same. Where exactly did you purchase it from. This seems interesting.
